It launched on July 30, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A separate free update released alongside it added two new battle mechanics and three stage variants; those are not part of the paid expansion.
What does the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC add?
Bandai Namco’s July 30, 2026 launch announcement lists these paid expansion features:
- 33 playable characters
- Four Episode Battles and new Extra Battles
- Four new stages
- Limit Breaker Journey, a solo progression mode
- Outfits and techniques; the official overview does not give totals or a complete item list
The launch announcement names characters including Mercenary Tao, Grandpa Gohan, General Blue, Ma Junior, Chi-Chi, Demon King Piccolo, Goku (World Tournament), Mighty Mask, Supreme Kai, Uub (Kid), Zangya, Super Saiyan Bardock, Chilled, Super 17, Vegeta (GT), Trunks (GT), Nuova Shenron (GT), Hell Fighter 17, Champa, Jaco, and Cheelai. This is a selection, not the full 33-character roster. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement describes the full count and feature set.
What are the new stages?
The four stages named in the PlayStation Blog preview are Kami’s Palace, Kame House, Bitter Tundra, and Stratosphere, which includes Earth and Planet Vegeta. Environments are destructible: the preview describes Kami’s Palace being damaged down to ground level. Zanda Ra’s July 23 PlayStation Blog preview provides the stage names and destruction example.

How does Limit Breaker Journey work?
Limit Breaker Journey is a solo mode built around developing a selected character through battles and events. Players navigate an interactive map, earn experience, acquire Battle Arts, and allocate points among six stats, according to the PlayStation Blog preview. Bandai Namco’s launch overview says trained characters can then be used in offline battles and selected online battles. The mode therefore adds a character-progression loop that differs from simply choosing a fighter for the game’s established battles.
The July 23 preview’s account of progression came from a playtest build. Its specific observations about difficulty and progression may not match the released version; the launch overview establishes the mode’s broad structure and where trained characters can be used. The Dragon Ball Official Site overview also features the mode alongside outfits and techniques, without enumerating those items.

What came in the free update instead?
The update released alongside NEO is separate from the paid expansion. Bandai Namco says it adds Sparking Boost and Chain Blast, plus three additional stage variants. Buying NEO is not required by the launch announcement for those update features; they are identified as part of the accompanying free update. Which platforms have NEO?
At launch on July 30, 2026, Bandai Namco said NEO was available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions to follow later. That announcement establishes launch-period timing, not whether either Nintendo version has since launched. Check the current store listing for your region and platform before buying.

Is NEO included with Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO?
Steam lists Super Limit-Breaking NEO separately from the base game, so owning the base game does not by itself establish that you own this DLC. Check the exact edition and platform in the storefront before purchase. The Steam catalog shows the base game and expansion as separate listings; its displayed price and discounts can vary by region and change over time.
