Draven, the Eternal Praetor, is an Act 1 boss in the Mausoleum of the Praetor. The key to the fight is to intercept the spirits that move toward him: walk through them before he absorbs three, then dodge his marked attacks and sword swings. After defeating him, collect Draven’s Memorial Key Piece to progress the Sorrow Among Stones quest.
Where to find Draven
Draven is in the Mausoleum of the Praetor, beneath the Cemetery of the Eternals, during Act 1’s Sorrow Among Stones quest. The Mausoleum’s location and quest connection are described by Game8’s Draven guide; the Path of Exile 2 Wiki also lists the Mausoleum as his location.

How to handle Draven’s spirit mechanic
Spirits appear during the fight and travel toward Draven. Run through each one to dissipate it before it reaches him. If he absorbs three spirits, he becomes empowered, attacks more aggressively and quickly, and some attacks change. Preventing that threshold is the fight’s central priority.
Where you intercept a spirit matters: dissipating one near a grave or an Eternal Knight’s corpse can bring the knight back into the fight. Try to intercept spirits away from those hazards when possible. The wiki and PoE Vault’s Act 1 boss guide describe this grave-related risk.
How to avoid Draven’s attacks
- Stomp and line attack: When Draven stomps and marks a line, move clear of the marked path rather than trying to trade damage. Attack during his recovery only if you have a safe opening.
- Spreading soul projectiles: Move away from the spreading pattern as it appears; do not stay in its path to maintain damage.
- Sword attacks: Avoid standing directly in front of Draven during his sword swings and combos. Keep moving and use his wind-up to anticipate the attack.

The arena’s central hole can obstruct your route while you dodge, even though you cannot fall through it. Keep track of your position and avoid backing into it when moving away from a marked attack. Graves and Eternal Knight corpses are another reason to choose spirit-interception paths carefully: dealing with a revived knight while evading Draven adds pressure.
What to do after the fight
After defeating Draven, collect the Memorial Key Piece. It is a quest reward, not a random-drop chance. The piece is paired with Asinia’s Memorial Key Piece to progress through the quest gate, as described by Game8 and Gamer Guides.
Version and level note
Published references do not establish Draven’s exact live level or balance on October 8, 2026. The community wiki lists a level entry and records a 0.2.1 change that slightly reduced melee damage and projectile cleave, while another boss index gives a different area-level label. Treat those figures and historical changes as reference information, not confirmation of the current encounter balance.
