When did Nightreign duos mode come out?
Bandai Namco added the feature in version 1.02, whose North American patch notes are dated July 31, 2025. The notes say, “Added Two Player Expeditions.” PC Gamer’s July 25 report had described July 30 as the expected rollout date. Those are different dates: July 30 was the reported expectation, while July 31 is the date on the publisher’s patch notes.

Bandai Namco’s version 1.02 patch notes list PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam as targeted platforms. The notes do not specify platform-by-platform release times.
What changed with Two Player Expeditions?
The mode lets players undertake an expedition as a pair. Nightreign was originally presented with three-player squads or solo play; two-player expeditions were added later. Bandai Namco says in the version 1.02 notes that “The game balance will be adjusted to the current number of players.” The notes do not give specific difficulty-scaling values or describe matchmaking rules, so those details should not be assumed.
