Bandai Namco Europe’s Duo Expeditions guide, published July 31, 2025, confirms that a party can commence an expedition solo, as a duo, or with two other players. The claim that the game only allows solo or trio play is therefore outdated.

How to start a two-player expedition
- At Roundtable Hold, interact with the expedition table.
- Open the Matchmaking Setting tab and choose Number of Players.
- Set the number to Two.
- Return to the Target tab and select Commence Expedition.
The game retains the selected matchmaking settings until you change them. Bandai Namco’s Duo Expeditions instructions describe the same flow for choosing a solo, duo, or three-player expedition.
How to play solo, including offline
Choose a solo expedition
At the expedition interface, open Matchmaking Setting and set Expedition Type to Single player. The selection persists until changed, as described in Bandai Namco Europe’s May 30, 2025 solo-player guide.

Play without an internet connection
From the main menu, go to System settings, then Network, and select Play offline. You still need to configure the expedition as solo. If you attempt multiplayer while offline, the game displays a warning. Bandai Namco’s starter guide distinguishes solo play, which can be online or offline, from cooperative multiplayer, which requires an internet connection.
