Play Revenant as a support-focused Nightfarer: use her family summons and temporary enemy ghosts to add allies to the field, then save Immortal March for a moment when the team needs protection or a rescue. Her summons can create openings and distractions, but they are not dependable boss damage; manage FP carefully because Revenant has no built-in FP recovery.

What Revenant’s abilities do

Summon Spirit: choose a family member

Revenant’s character skill lets you play her lyre to summon one of three fallen family members: Helen, Frederick, or Sebastian. Bandai Namco describes the skill as: “Play lyre to summon fallen family to rally beside you in battle.” You select the family summon directly, unlike Necromancy, which depends on enemies being killed.

Necromancy: turn enemy deaths into temporary help

Necromancy raises enemy ghosts to fight as allies. Bandai Namco Europe’s advanced tips say there is no upper limit on how many enemies Revenant can return, even while a family member is present. Each ghost lasts approximately one minute before disappearing. A family member or another temporary summon can also trigger Necromancy by landing the killing blow.

Immortal March: protect and rescue the team

Immortal March makes Revenant and nearby allies immortal, revives allies who are near death, and transforms her family spirits into immortal warriors. The official starter guide also highlights the Ultimate Art’s usefulness for restoring near-death allies. Treat it as a team-survival tool rather than a routine damage buff: using it when a teammate is in danger is a practical inference from its stated effects, not a published timing rule.

How to play Revenant in a fight

Call a family member for presence, not guaranteed boss damage

Choose Helen, Frederick, or Sebastian according to the situation, but the official guidance does not establish a best option or compare their numbers, cooldown interactions, or boss matchups. Bandai Namco cautions that family summons can struggle under boss aggression and may function more as a distraction than a reliable source of damage. Use their presence to add another body to the fight, not as a substitute for your own damage or a teammate’s.

Make use of ghosts while they last

Necromancy rewards fights with ordinary enemies: the more they die while the effect can trigger, the more temporary allies can join the field, with no stated cap. Since each ghost fades after about a minute, use the extra bodies in the current fight instead of planning around them lasting through the expedition. Family members and other temporary summons can contribute by securing kills that create more ghosts.

Track FP before spending freely

Revenant has no innate way to restore FP. Bandai Namco Europe notes that relics which add Starlite Shards to the starting inventory may be useful. That is a resource-planning option, not a universally recommended relic setup; avoid spending FP as if the character can replenish it automatically.

Hold Immortal March for a meaningful team window

Because the Ultimate Art can revive near-death allies and protect nearby allies, look for a moment when its rescue or survival effects matter. It also transforms active family spirits, so using it while they are present can strengthen their role. The official pages do not specify an optimal activation threshold or numerical duration, so adapt the timing to the team’s condition rather than following a fixed rotation.

Family summons and Necromancy ghosts compared

Summon type How it appears What to expect
Family skill summon Revenant chooses Helen, Frederick, or Sebastian with Summon Spirit. Can add presence and distract enemies; official tips caution that family members may struggle against boss aggression and should not be counted on for dependable boss damage.
Necromancy ghost Raised from an enemy death; family members and temporary summons can trigger one by landing a killing blow. No upper count limit is stated, but each ghost lasts approximately one minute.

The official sources do not compare the three family members’ performance, so there is no supported “best summon” recommendation here.

Practice the skill and Ultimate Art

The Sparring Grounds let players practice Nightfarer skills and experiment with weapons and equipment. Its guide settings can adjust character level and combat-resource regeneration, and remove limits on skill and Ultimate Art use. Use that space to learn how Summon Spirit and Immortal March behave before relying on them in an expedition.

Version 1.03.2 change to Revenant’s spirits

Bandai Namco America’s version 1.03.2 patch notes, dated January 15, 2026, record two Revenant-related changes: special attacks by summoned spirits gained attack power when Immortal March is activated while spirits are active, and a bug that allowed enemy attacks to stagger Revenant’s spirits inside Guardian’s Wings of Salvation was fixed. The notes give no damage values and do not establish that version 1.03.2 is the newest update.
