Earn Super Dragon Balls through Episode Battle: the Goku, Jiren, and Future Trunks routes identified by Game8 are the campaign paths to pursue. A complete set of seven lets you summon Super Shenron. If you own the Ultimate Edition Bonus, it grants a separate Super Shenron summon that Nintendo says works regardless of how many balls you have.
Where to get Super Dragon Balls
Game8’s route guide lists Super Dragon Ball rewards in Episode Battle, rather than as drops from ordinary random matches. The routes it identifies are tied to Goku, Jiren, and Future Trunks. Because the rewards depend on campaign branches, follow the named route rather than assuming any ending for that character will pay out.

| Episode Battle route | What to complete | Reward reported by Game8 |
|---|---|---|
| Goku | Progress through Goku’s campaign and complete the relevant route; the guide names “Goku’s Strength.” | A set of seven Super Dragon Balls. |
| Jiren | Unlock and complete “Ultimate Climactic Battle,” reached through an alternate path involving Master Roshi. | One set of seven Super Dragon Balls. |
| Future Trunks | Complete the alternate route “Embarking Toward Tomorrow.” The guide also reports rewards for both Future Trunks routes. | A set for the specified route; Game8 says completing both routes awards a set from each. |
The route-specific reward details come from Game8’s Super Dragon Balls guide, not an official Bandai Namco reward table. In particular, its Future Trunks coverage describes both the named route and rewards for completing both routes, so check the guide’s walkthrough for the branch conditions before relying on a particular completion.
How to unlock Jiren’s reward route
Game8 says the Jiren reward is tied to “Ultimate Climactic Battle,” not simply to finishing any Jiren episode. Its guide describes reaching that route by taking the alternate path involving Master Roshi, then completing the campaign. If the branch is not available, continue through Jiren’s Episode Battle and meet the alternate-path condition before expecting the reward.

How to summon Super Shenron
- Earn a complete set of seven Super Dragon Balls from an eligible Episode Battle route.
- Open the game’s summon or wish option and select Super Shenron.
- Choose an available wish. Nintendo’s listing gives zeni and playable-character unlocks as examples.
Game8 documents the campaign routes; Nintendo’s official software listing describes the summon and examples of wishes. The sources do not establish a drop rate or a reliable completion-time estimate, so there is no supported random-match farming rate to quote.
Does the Ultimate Edition let you summon Super Shenron without seven balls?
Yes. The Ultimate Edition Bonus is separate from campaign-earned Super Dragon Balls. Nintendo’s listing says: “You can summon Super Shenron regardless of the number of Super Dragon Balls you own at the time of use.” This is an edition entitlement, not a way to farm balls, and it is not required to earn them through Episode Battle. Nintendo lists the bonus for Switch; Bandai Namco’s edition overview distinguishes the Deluxe Shenron summon bonus from the Ultimate Edition Super Shenron bonus. Check the listing for your platform and edition before assuming the bonus applies to your copy.

Platform and edition notes
Bandai Namco lists DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on its product page. Nintendo’s Switch listing gives November 14, 2025 as the release date for its bonus content. The detailed normal Episode Battle rewards above are guide-reported, and should not be confused with edition bonuses.
Bandai Namco’s July 30, 2026 announcement said the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC was then available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with Switch and Switch 2 releases to follow. That dated announcement does not establish current Switch DLC availability as of October 8, 2026; check the relevant current store page if DLC compatibility matters. The DLC is not presented as a requirement for the base-game routes described here.
