How did Fantasy FC upgrades work?
EA linked upgrade eligibility to real-world domestic league results and player performances. Most non-seasonal conditions tracked a player’s next four league matches, starting when that item became available in Ultimate Team. The rules below describe the conditions EA announced; they do not establish the final outcome or rating of any individual item.

What counted for tracking?
Domestic league matches counted toward the non-seasonal conditions; cup matches counted only toward the domestic-cup seasonal upgrade. For goals and assists, EA’s rule was: “Only goals and assists officially awarded by Opta will count towards the upgrades.”

EA named these primary cups for seasonal tracking: the FA Cup (men and women), DFB Pokal (men and women), Coupe de France (men and women), Copa del Rey (men), Copa de la Reina (women) and Coppa Italia.
How were Fantasy Heroes different?
Hero items followed the domestic league performances of their historical clubs rather than the regular player goal-contribution, clean-sheet and no-card conditions, which excluded Heroes. EA named these tracking associations:

Fantasy FC League
EA introduced a limited-entry Ultimate Team Friendly with a squad built within an overall-rating allowance. The announced structure allowed 36 total entries, set its maximum reward at 30 wins and offered three exclusive player rewards at 10, 20 and 30 wins.
Fantasy FC Cup
The Cup used Fantasy OVR entry requirements. EA said it would refresh twice, bringing new entry requirements, House Rules and Objectives; the first Cup was announced for February 21 under Mystery Ball rules. These were campaign announcements, not confirmation of current availability.
