Cosmic Royale is a free-to-play kart racer announced by Eden Games in 2024 as part of Animoca Brands’ Motorverse and Mocaverse ecosystem. Its headline mode was designed for 40 players, with racing and obstacle rounds leading to a survival finale. The original PC launch window was Q4 2024 on the Epic Games Store; that was a plan announced at the time, not confirmation that the game is currently available there. The official site and an Apple App Store listing surfaced for this article describe iOS play, but availability can vary by region.
What is Cosmic Royale?
Cosmic Royale is a party-style multiplayer kart racing game developed by Eden Games. Animoca Brands announced it on July 15, 2024, describing it as a Web3 game in its Motorverse collection and the pilot gaming experience for Cosmic Club, Mocaverse’s social gamification platform. Animoca described Eden Games as its subsidiary and said this was Eden’s first game developed from start to finish with blockchain integration. Animoca Brands’ announcement is the source for those launch-era details.
How does Cosmic Royale play?
The central mode announced for the game, the Cosmic Tournament, puts players through successive multiplayer rounds. The format starts with races and obstacle navigation; players qualify through each round until a survival finale leaves one racer. Animoca’s announcement specified matches of up to 40 players. That is the announced mode design, not an independently verified current matchmaking or player-count figure.

Is Cosmic Royale free to play?
Animoca’s July 2024 announcement described the planned full release as free to play, and the official site advertises free iOS play. The App Store listing describes in-app upgrades and a Cosmic Pass, so free access does not mean every cosmetic or progression item is necessarily free. The sources do not establish current prices or a complete monetization schedule.

What do Moca ID, Mocaverse, and NFTs do?
In the announced beta flow, Moca ID serves as an account and access credential. The 2024 announcement said Moca NFT and Moca ID holders would receive exclusive beta access. The official site describes connecting a Moca ID and crypto wallet for beta access, and says a player who holds a Mocaverse avatar can use it as a driver. These are distinct from ordinary game availability; the announcement’s beta eligibility terms should not be mistaken for current access requirements.
Animoca also described using Moca NFTs as personalized kart drivers, with a unique kart and parts unlocked, and said players could earn Realm Points by playing. It linked accumulated points to potential eligibility for a later MOCA Coin airdrop, subject to other criteria. Those token and reward descriptions come from the 2024 announcement and do not confirm present reward terms, eligibility, or an airdrop. The official site and App Store listing also promote digital customization, including drivers, kart parts, skins, upgrades, accessories, banners, and seasonal Cosmic Pass rewards.
What is known about player numbers and rewards?
The 40-player figure describes the tournament format in the launch announcement; it is not a current player count. Eden Games’ creative director David Nadal said in that announcement that the game would welcome “hundreds of thousands of players,” but the statement was promotional and was not accompanied by a method or independent player-count verification. The reviewed sources do not establish current active users, revenue, or performance results.

The same announcement included company-reported background figures for Eden Games and Animoca Brands, including studio sales and download totals and Moca ID ownership. Those are publisher-reported 2024 figures, not independent measures of Cosmic Royale’s audience, and the Motorverse download total was portfolio-wide rather than specific to this game.
