For a level 100+ Elden Ring Paladin, build around a holy-knight playstyle rather than a fixed class: invest in Vigor and Faith, meet your chosen weapon’s requirements, then decide whether your next levels should strengthen melee, Incantations, FP comfort, or equip load. Two published level-100 templates show the trade-off: one balances 40 Vigor and 40 Faith with moderate Strength, while another puts more points into Strength and Endurance at the cost of Vigor. Neither is a universal optimum.
What makes a Paladin build in Elden Ring?
“Paladin” is a community archetype, not a starting class or a single required stat spread. The common identity is a weapon-and-shield fighter who uses Faith-based Incantations for buffs, utility, or damage. First choose where most of your damage should come from: melee, Incantations, or a genuine mix. A melee hybrid can use Incantations to improve or support weapon fighting; a casting-focused character needs to prioritize the seal and stats that support spell damage.

Mobalytics distinguishes pure Faith builds, where Incantations are the main damage source, from Faith hybrids that invest more in Strength, Dexterity, and Endurance for melee weapon options. Its hybrid guide specifically describes buffs and utility Incantations as a natural complement to melee. Mobalytics’ Faith build guide was updated August 24, 2026. A separate level-100 Paladin guide by SegmentNext, dated July 9, 2024, presents both a tank-oriented setup and a Golden Order-leaning setup. These are useful templates, not evidence of a single best build.
Level 100 attribute templates
These published allocations illustrate two different priorities. The Mobalytics example preserves more Vigor and uses a balanced Strength/Faith split. SegmentNext’s version spends more on Strength and Endurance, with less Vigor. Attribute totals and starting-class origins can differ, so treat either as a destination to adapt—not a set of points to copy blindly.

Start with survival and weapon requirements
Bandai Namco’s official advanced-stats guidance recommends aiming for at least 40 Vigor on any build. It lists 1,450 HP at 40 Vigor, 1,900 HP at 60, and 2,100 HP at 99, and suggests considering 60 after other stat needs are met. That makes 40 a strong survival baseline to consider, not a mandatory rule. If you choose the SegmentNext template’s 30 Vigor, understand that it trades away health relative to the official 40-Vigor target.
Next, check the Strength and Dexterity requirements of the weapon you actually want to use. A guide’s stat line cannot guarantee that its weapon will be usable with your starting class or your preferred gear. Meet the weapon requirements first, then decide whether extra points belong in Strength for your melee plan or Faith for stronger spell support. Bandai Namco’s advanced-stats guide covers Vigor, equipment load, and casting-tool scaling.
Choose what levels beyond 100 should improve
After establishing Vigor and meeting weapon requirements, direct later levels toward the part of the build that feels constrained. More Faith supports a casting-oriented identity; more Strength supports a weapon-forward one. More Mind can make frequent Incantations more comfortable, while Endurance helps accommodate heavier armor and shields without giving up a normal roll. There is no universal level-100+ endpoint in the cited guides: the right next stat depends on your weapon, spell use, and equipment load.
Choose a melee and Incantation balance
Strength/Faith melee hybrid
Choose this direction if your weapon is the main damage source and Incantations mostly provide buffs, healing or other utility, or occasional ranged pressure. Mobalytics’ level-100 hybrid is the more survivability-conscious of the two example spreads, with 40 Vigor, 25 Strength, and 40 Faith. Its recommendation of the Clawmark Seal is relevant to a character already investing in Strength because that seal scales Incantations with Strength and Faith. Match the seal to your actual attributes and intended spells rather than assuming every Incantation scales directly from Faith alone.
More dedicated Incantation damage
If spells are your primary damage, favor the stats and casting tool that support that focus instead of treating Faith as a side stat on a weapon build. Bandai Namco states: “The damage of the spell is based on the Sorcery or Incant Scaling your casting tool has.” In other words, spell damage depends on the seal’s Incantation Scaling; the spell’s Faith requirement by itself does not tell you its damage. Choose a Sacred Seal that fits your attribute distribution and spell focus. The cited sources do not establish a current-patch best seal for every possible level-100+ Paladin spread.

Pick a gear identity: tank or Golden Order
SegmentNext presents two distinct equipment paths. They share a Faith-based knight theme but make different compromises in weapon choice and emphasis, so select the one that fits your preferred combat style rather than mixing every listed item into one assumed loadout.
| Approach | Weapons and shield | Incantations and other details | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tank-oriented melee | Great Stars; Haligtree Crest Greatshield | Prayerful Strike, Barricade Shield, Golden Vow, and defensive or utility Incantations; Haligtree Knight or Mausoleum Knight armor as thematic options | Heavy armor and a large shield can increase equip load; balance protection against the roll you want to preserve. |
| Golden Order-leaning melee/caster | Miquellan Knight’s Sword; Brass Shield; Sacred Blade | Golden Vow, Discus of Light, Litany of Proper Death, and Triple Rings of Light | This setup emphasizes a different weapon and spell identity; still check the combined load of weapons, shield, armor, and talismans. |

Keep a normal roll while choosing armor and shield
For most Paladin setups, a normal (medium) roll is a practical target. Bandai Namco’s equipment-load thresholds are:
- 29.9% or below: fast roll.
- 30%–69.9%: normal roll.
- 70%–99.9%: heavy roll.
- 100% or above: over-encumbered.
The publisher identifies 69.9% as the practical upper threshold for retaining a normal roll. Check the total load with your equipped weapon, shield, armor, and talismans together; a loadout that works before adding a shield may cross into heavy load once fully equipped. When deciding whether to add heavier armor, weigh its protection and poise against the mobility lost by crossing that threshold.
Build and adjust your Paladin step by step
- Choose the weapon and combat identity. Decide whether melee, Incantations, or a mix will provide most of your damage. Select the weapon and shield that fit that plan.
- Meet the weapon’s requirements. Use the requirements for your chosen weapon rather than copying Strength or Dexterity from either level-100 template.
- Set a Vigor target. Consider 40 Vigor as the official survivability baseline; weigh the lower 30-Vigor example against your tolerance for less HP.
- Allocate the remaining levels to your chosen emphasis. Invest in Strength for a more weapon-forward build or Faith and a suitable seal for more Incantation use. Add Mind if FP comfort is a real constraint, or Endurance if your preferred kit needs more load capacity.
- Equip the full loadout and check equip load. Include armor, shield, weapons, and talismans. Adjust the pieces or increase capacity as needed to stay below 70% for a normal roll.
- Test the seal with your intended spells. Compare the casting tool’s Incantation Scaling and ensure it suits your attribute spread; do not select a seal on name or Faith alone.
- Reassess as you level past 100. Add points to the build’s current bottleneck—survival, weapon damage, spell damage, FP use, or equipment capacity—instead of following a template past the level and setup it describes.
How current are these recommendations?
The level-100 stat lines are dated recommendations from Mobalytics (updated August 24, 2026) and SegmentNext (July 9, 2024), not publisher-prescribed builds. The available citations do not identify the game patch used for those allocations or establish recent retesting. Mobalytics reports that Flock’s Canvas Talisman increases Incantation damage by 8%, but that is a guide-reported, patch-sensitive item effect rather than a universal build requirement. Verify item details in your current game version before building around them. Mobalytics’ guide
Fextralife’s cited Strength/Faith Paladin guide is specifically an NG+ build above level 150, dated December 20, 2022; it is not a level-100 recipe. Fextralife’s build guide
