New to Enotria: The Last Song? Start by treating masks, Aspects, and loadouts as combat tools, not cosmetics; learn when to parry and when to dodge; and switch elements and Lines to match the enemy. Ardore matters outside combat too: changing the world can reveal routes, secrets, and tactical openings.
1. Learn the controls and combat rhythm before rushing ahead
Use the game’s tutorial or learning materials to get comfortable with its controls and systems. The available official descriptions establish that combat combines parries, quicksteps, posture breaks, ripostes, and an Awakened state, but do not establish that any tutorial explains every system. 2. Try masks for their effects, not just their appearance
Masks can change how your character plays. The Epic Games Store guide gives the Guise of Spaventa as an example, with a stamina boost and access to Solar Barrage; it describes the Mask of Change as boosting heavy attacks and increasing physical power while Awakened. 3. Set up loadouts for different situations
Rather than repeatedly rebuilding one setup, keep a few configurations ready and switch between them when your needs change. The official site confirms up to three customizable loadouts. Epic’s guide says each can include two weapons, one parry gem, up to four Lines, and six passive perks. You could use separate setups to experiment with weapons, prepare for different elemental affinities, or favor a particular mask and its boons. Enotria official site · Epic Games Store guide

4. Parry to pressure posture, then riposte
Successful parries can build an enemy’s posture damage. When posture breaks, use the opening for a riposte. The official game site describes chainable parries and ripostes as part of the combat system, but that does not mean every attack should be parried. Learn the timing against attacks you can read reliably, and keep quicksteps and dodges available for situations where moving clear is safer. Official combat features
5. Match elemental damage to enemy affinity
Watch for an enemy’s elemental affinity and try a damaging type that counters it. The cycle in Epic’s guide is:

In other words, Fatuo is strong against Vis, Vis against Mallano, Mallano against Gratia, and Gratia against Fatuo. You can test a match using Lines, throwable items, or a weapon with the relevant elemental scaling. 6. Charge Lines through weapon combat and use them deliberately
Lines are magical abilities, but they are tied to fighting: the official site says they charge as you strike foes. Build charge while attacking, then use a Line when its effect fits the situation instead of treating it as a separate system to ignore between casts. Epic’s guide also describes a Path perk that briefly infuses a weapon after you cast a Line, so check your available perks if you want to link spell use with weapon pressure. 7. Use Ardore when the world seems to offer another possibility
Ardore lets you alter environmental states. When an obstacle, suspicious area, puzzle, or battle suggests the surroundings could be changed, try using it: the official site describes Ardore as a way to solve puzzles, reveal secrets, traverse the world, and gain advantages in combat. Exploration is not only about searching for a path through the environment as it first appears. Official Ardore feature description

Find a weapon class whose attacks feel comfortable to you, then check how the weapon’s moveset and rarity affect its use. Jyamma Games’ version 1.008 notes, published March 13, 2025, say most weapons received moveset updates: common weapons gained simpler, more differentiated movesets; rare weapons may add actions or automatically infuse during attacks; and epic and legendary tiers received more substantial changes. The notes also say rarity and stats were adjusted to reflect weapon actions. Because of those changes, a named weapon recommendation from an older guide may not describe the current build. 9. Adapt your mask and approach as a fight changes
Some encounters reward changing your setup rather than insisting on one style. The official site describes matching opponents through mask swaps and chaining kills. Use the options available to you when a new enemy, combat rhythm, or opening calls for a different boon; a loadout change can make that adjustment easier without dismantling your main setup. 10. If you play on PC, check the version 1.011 stutter advice
Jyamma Games’ September 16, 2026 announcement for update 1.011 says the PC stutter-mitigation system requires VSync and recommends enabling VSync for the smoothest experience. This is a dated, PC-specific recommendation, not a universal setting for console players; rollout timing can also differ by platform.
