EB Games Canada’s unadvertised Boxing Week “Secret Sale” was reported to offer seven Nintendo Switch 2 games for CAD $69.99 at some stores. The promotion ran from December 26 through December 31, 2025, and is over; the reported prices are not current offers.
What was the EB Games “Secret Sale”?
It was a set of unadvertised, in-store Boxing Week promotions at EB Games Canada, separate from the retailer’s advertised Boxing Week deals. On December 26, 2025, MobileSyrup reported a local offer shared by a Reddit user and relayed by deals aggregator Lbabinz. Similar community posts described offers at other locations, but EB Games did not publicly promote the specific deals covered in the report. MobileSyrup’s December 26 report attributed the promotion to a dated Lbabinz post: “YMMV – EB Games in-store Secret Sale has started, Switch 2 games for $69.99 / Joy-cons spotted via the Video Game Deals Canada sub.”

Which Switch 2 games were reported at CAD $69.99?
MobileSyrup reported the following prices for new copies at the locations described. The savings below are calculated from the regular prices cited in that report; they are not evidence of current prices.
| Game | Reported sale price | Regular price cited | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyberpunk 2077 | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30.00 |
| Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30.00 |
| Kirby Air Riders | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30.00 |
| The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30.00 |
| The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | CAD $69.99 | CAD $114.99 | CAD $45.00 |
| Mario Kart World | CAD $69.99 | CAD $109.99 | CAD $40.00 |
| Pokémon Legends: Z-A | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30.00 |
So the offer was not a blanket CAD $45 discount on every Switch 2 game. The amount below the regular price cited by MobileSyrup depended on the title: CAD $30 for five games, CAD $40 for Mario Kart World, and CAD $45 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These are historical, report-based comparisons, not a market-wide price survey. MobileSyrup also mentioned Joy-Cons as being on sale but did not report a price for them.

How long did the sale last?
A December 22 preview said the Boxing Week campaign was scheduled to begin on Boxing Day, December 26, and end on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025. That preview distinguished advertised Boxing Week deals from the separate unadvertised in-store offers. Read the December 22 preview. The reported Secret Sale window has therefore passed.
Did every EB Games store have the same deals?
No uniform nationwide availability is established. The original game prices came from an unnamed store. MobileSyrup said posts from other locations corroborated similar offers, while warning that items and prices could vary by store. Reddit users also described stock differences and items that did not scan at some locations; those accounts are anecdotal, not official terms or proof of inventory. Community discussion on Video Game Deals Canada reflects shopper reports rather than a retailer-wide offer.

No. The reported promotion ended December 31, 2025. The sources describing it do not verify a new October 2026 offer, current inventory, or current prices. Check EB Games Canada directly for any present-day promotion rather than relying on the historical CAD $69.99 figure.
