The asking prices and reported sales were high, but the reports describe a small number of listings—not a typical resale price or a confirmed market-wide premium.
What was reported about the early listings?
Notebookcheck reported on July 13, 2025, that an eBay seller had acquired and listed 15 copies ahead of the game’s July 17 release. The publication said some sales closed at around US$100. Read Notebookcheck’s report.
Twisted Voxel, reporting a day earlier, described a seller offering copies for US$112.99 each, or US$97.99 with a coupon. At the time of its report, five had reportedly sold and ten remained in stock. Those figures describe that seller’s listing, not all eBay activity. Read Twisted Voxel’s report.
Were the reported prices nearly double the normal price?
The reports establish elevated offers and some sales around US$100, but they do not establish a standard retail-price baseline or show that every transaction was nearly double that price. An asking price is not necessarily the amount a buyer paid, and the two publications reported different details about listings and sales.

Was the seller’s source confirmed?
No. Notebookcheck said the seller’s source was unclear. The publication speculated that retail stock might have been involved, but did not verify that explanation. The reports do not establish how the seller obtained the copies.
