When did the game officially launch?
Techland announced September 18, 2025 as the release date for PC, PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Steam also lists September 18, 2025 as the release date. On September 12, Techland said it had moved the date forward to September 18 and reported that more than one million players had secured a copy ahead of launch. That milestone is a publisher-reported figure, not an independently audited sales total.
In the date-change announcement, franchise director Tymon Smektała said: “Seeing the excitement from our community for the return of Kyle Crane in Dying Light: The Beast, and knowing the game is ready, we wanted to do something special for our players.”
