How to handle his opening winged dive
Edredd can sprout golden wings, spin, and dive toward you. Roll into or forward through the strike rather than retreating from it. Do not assume the landing guarantees a long opening: he may follow immediately with another attack, so watch his next move before committing to a heavy punish. Edredd’s spinning strings can include several slashes, a reversal, and more spins. Some beats are delayed. Avoid panic-rolling through the whole sequence or attacking after an early dodge; wait until the final hit has passed, then retaliate briefly.

Jumping stab
When Edredd leaps and drives his twinblade down, dodge as he descends. The recovery after the landing can give you time for a charged heavy attack or weapon skill, but be ready to stop if he resumes attacking.

His overhead and upward slash or stab patterns can also involve multiple hits. Treat each as a sequence: evade the complete string before striking, rather than trying to trade blows in the middle of it.
Choose a dodge-first or parry approach
Dodge and take short openings
This is the more broadly usable approach: roll through the winged dive, evade each beat of his close-range strings, then take a limited punish when the sequence ends. His attacks can leave room to hit back, but pressing repeatedly is risky given his substantial health pool and potential follow-ups.
Parry or interrupt if your timing is reliable
EIP Gaming describes Edredd’s twinblade attacks as comparatively easy to parry and says he flinches readily. Repeated hits can interrupt him and contribute to a stance break, but this is an execution-dependent option, not a reason to attack without regard for his next move.

What to know about weaknesses and summons
Game8’s July 29, 2024 search snippet reports that Edredd is susceptible to Poison and Sleep, recommends Pierce or Lightning damage, and suggests sleep to stagger or interrupt him. The page could not be opened for verification, and exact resistance values are not established here, so treat those damage-type tips as lower-confidence guidance rather than confirmed numerical weaknesses. Summon advice is also inconsistent: EIP Gaming says summons are unavailable in this encounter, while The Escapist recommends Mimic Tear. These guide accounts do not resolve the discrepancy. Check the summon availability shown in your own game rather than planning around a summon being guaranteed.
