Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1: Crossroads launched on November 12, 2024. Its headline additions were the first Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid, Jeuno: The First Walk, a new dungeon and trial, and the next chapter of the Dawntrail story. Several announced activities—including an Ultimate raid and new side quests—were scheduled for later updates in the 7.1 series, rather than the initial launch.
What is Patch 7.1: Crossroads?
Crossroads continues the Warrior of Light’s adventures in Tural after the events surrounding Living Memory. Square Enix frames the story around the lingering shade of remembrance and the effort to help people of two worlds move forward while uncovering secrets of the past. The patch’s official release date was November 12, 2024. Square Enix’s Crossroads patch site and its Patch 7.1 notes provide the official descriptions and access details.

What launched with Patch 7.1?
Story and duties
- Main scenario: A continuation of the Warrior of Light’s story in Tural, following the crisis in Living Memory.
- Alliance raid: Echoes of Vana’diel — Jeuno: The First Walk, the opening installment in a raid series crossing FINAL FANTASY XI and FINAL FANTASY XIV.
- Dungeon: Yuweyawata Field Station, set amid the history of a Tonawawtan village in northern Heritage Found and a tural vidraal attack.
- Trial: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden, a retelling centered on Queen Eternal.
- Unreal trial: The Jade Stoa (Unreal), revisiting the Byakko encounter.
Quests and other additions
Patch 7.1 also introduced Pelupelu society quests. Their story follows a team of young entrepreneurs trying to build a venture that promotes Tural as a tourist destination.
System and quality-of-life changes
Among the visible non-duty additions, the update made interior designs available irrespective of housing area and added a minimalist style. Doman mahjong gained character voices for moments such as riichi and tsumo, and Hall of the Novice received additional tactical training exercises. The full notes also cover changes to party-list management, cross-world party conversion, party recruitment categories, currency-window organization, fishing behavior, gathering logs, the desynthesis cap, shops and crafting interfaces, housing, collectibles, and other systems.

What was scheduled for later 7.1-series patches?
The 7.1 roadmap separated several announced features from the initial Crossroads launch. The schedule below is the one stated in the official notes, which were updated April 9, 2025; it is not a guarantee of current live-game availability. Check the later official patch notes for current release status.
| Scheduled release | Content |
|---|---|
| Patch 7.11 | Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) |
| Patch 7.15 | Nitowikwe custom deliveries; Wachumeqimeqi quests; Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures |
| One week after Patch 7.15 | The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) |

These items were part of the broader 7.1-series schedule, not all launch-day Patch 7.1 content. The official Crossroads special-site announcement also highlighted later challenges; the patch notes specify their planned timing.

Not every feature shares the same access requirement. The Patch 7.1 notes mark applicable content by expansion, with a legend covering A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail. Some marked content requires Dawntrail registration, but that should not be generalized to every change in the update. Check the expansion markers beside the specific feature in the official notes and confirm that the relevant expansion is registered to your account.
