Follow Godwin to bury three bodies, complete the pistole tutorial, then decide which optional camp tasks to finish before sleeping and triggering the siege of Nebakov. During the assault, defend the ladders and gate; if the gate holds, join Zizka at the lower-fort breach.
How to start The Finger of God
The quest follows Divine Messenger. Once Henry is under your control, follow Godwin to the burial site behind the Nebakov stables. A spade lies beside the marked graves.

- Use the spade to dig each of the three marked graves.
- Move the three bodies into the graves and bury them.
- Speak with Godwin and finish any dialogue before following him to the archery range by the moat.
How to complete the pistole tutorial
At the range, follow the tutorial instructions to load and fire the hand cannon three times. PowerPyx says Henry receives his first pistole after completing the tutorial. Gamer Guides describes the firing process as slow and says the optional competition is not a meaningful combat test; treat that as guide advice, not a required objective. PowerPyx’s walkthrough was published February 3, 2025, while Gamer Guides’ walkthrough lists a September 17, 2026 update.
Optional camp tasks before the siege
You can explore the camp and help its residents before advancing the quest. These tasks are optional, but can provide support or supplies for the defense. Sleeping at the cabin starts the siege, so finish anything you want to do and equip your preferred gear first. Gamer Guides warns that you cannot change gear once the battle begins.

Bluster: load supplies
Talk to Bluster. The guides describe either passing a dialogue check or fighting before loading five sacks onto the cart. If the conversation turns hostile, resolve it before moving the sacks.
Groom Peltzel: make horseshoes
Help Peltzel by forging and delivering three horseshoes. Guide accounts differ on the exact reward bundle, so check the in-game objective rather than counting on a particular reward.
Bull: help with weapons
Bull asks Henry to work on three weapons. The guides describe the task differently—one refers to sharpening at a wheel, another to using a repair kit—so follow the method indicated by your current objective and available tools.

Klara: treat Mark, Zwerk, and Kozliek
To help Klara, get past the guard conversation and examine the injuries of Mark, Zwerk, and Kozliek. Then use the medical supplies available to treat them. The guides do not fully agree on each patient’s exact remedy or the order of treatment, so their specific recipes should not be treated as guaranteed. Persuading Klara after helping her can lead to an optional overnight scene and a temporary benefit, according to the guides. Neither is necessary to finish the quest.
Hans: optional dice
Speak with Hans if you want to, and play dice if you choose. This interaction is not required to complete the quest.

Sleep to begin the siege
When you are ready, sleep at the cabin. The siege begins after Henry wakes, and you can assign rescued allies to defensive positions. Gamer Guides recommends placing reserves at the gate because defenders are already on the battlements; that is a tactical suggestion, not a required assignment.

Knock down the assault ladders
At the battlements, stop attackers from climbing over by knocking down their ladders. Gamer Guides says a polearm can be used for this interaction.
Help defend the gate
When the gate comes under attack, go to the gate platform and assist Hans. PowerPyx notes that dropping a boulder through an opening in the floor can kill an attacker and earn the “Rock and Stone!” achievement.
Counterattack at the lower fort if the gate holds
If the gate defense succeeds, speak to Zizka and follow him to the breach in the lower fortress, where you will fight attackers. If the gate defense fails, PowerPyx says the lower-fort objective is skipped and the sequence moves toward the courtyard defense. This is the siege’s meaningful branch: the result changes whether you fight at the breach.
Finish the quest
After the siege sequence, help Godwin in the courtyard. The story then moves to the tower and Nebakov’s fall, ending The Finger of God.
