There is no universally best Growth Map allocation in Fantasian Neo Dimension. A reliable starting plan is to buy skills that help across encounters, then specialize each character for their role and the next enemy. Because Xbox Wire Japan says Release Mode resets Growth Map choices at no cost, you can experiment with a boss-focused setup and reallocate when your needs change.
Start with upgrades that help across the party
Growth Map SP unlocks both skills and status bonuses. The development team’s general advice is to improve equipment flexibility and the duration of useful buffs and debuffs before committing to a narrow build. For healers, invest in better healing; for characters who can Charge, consider Charge-related support.

In a developer interview, the team specifically recommends “Jewel Slot +” first, followed by extensions such as “Attack Up Extension” and “Attack Down Extension.” Those are broad priorities, not a mandatory sequence for every character: an urgent missing role skill can be more valuable for the fight ahead. Read the developer interview.
Suggested Growth Map priorities by character
These are role-first starting points, not an official ranking or a complete node-by-node route. Your available nodes, party composition, and the enemy’s weaknesses should determine what comes next.

- The Father of FINAL FANTASY, Hironobu Sakaguchi, and renowned composer Nobuo Uematsu return to deliver an original RPG story.
- Mechteria—a deathly mechanical infection that robs humans of their emotions and lives—is slowly engulfing the world.
- The protagonist Leo awakens with only one memory left to him in a strange land abundant with machines.
- The human world, threatened by mechteria... a machine world, filled with mysteries... and the unseen dimensions that lie beyond both.
- Using the Warp Device that was left behind, Leo must now embark on an interdimensional journey to reclaim his lost memories and save the world from the mechteria infection.
| Character | Practical starting priority | When to adapt |
|---|---|---|
| Leo | Build toward his core damage skills, including Samidare and useful upgrades; add survivability or debuff utility as needed. | A walkthrough highlights Samidare upgrades as useful damage in a late-game encounter. Treat that as an encounter example, not a requirement for every fight. Walkthrough reference. |
| Kina | Prioritize healing, revival, and support, then improve healing performance. | Healing improvement is among the developer’s general recommendations for healers; player advice also favors healing and Miracle-related branches. Community discussion. |
| Cheryl | Choose encounter-relevant elemental attacks and useful Charge or Concentrate support. | The development team recommends Charge-related benefits for characters who can Charge. Match her damage branch to the enemy rather than assuming one element is always best. Developer interview. |
| Zinikr | Unlock role skills and defensive tools that fit the party. | No universal Zinikr route is established by the cited guidance. Use him when his tools suit the incoming enemy’s damage and mechanics; Xbox Wire recommends rotating the party for upcoming battles. Xbox Wire. |
| Ez | Favor support and party-wide utility; community players point to Quick All and Bounce Field. | Check that the relevant skills are available at your current story progress and unlocks. Community discussion. |
| Valrika | Consider Arrow Rain and its hit upgrades, along with debuffs that suit the encounter. | Community advice emphasizes Arrow Rain, and a walkthrough recommends hit upgrades for a particular late-game boss; these are situational pointers. Community discussion · Walkthrough reference. |
| Prickle | Build healing and barrier support if the party needs recovery; choose attack options when it does not. | Community advice and walkthrough guidance also mention revival and encounter-matched attacks. Community discussion · Walkthrough reference. |
| Tan | Unlock newly available story-gated skills and useful enhancements; favor damage when the fight gives him time to set up. | Players report that some skills depend on story progression, so revisit his Growth Map as new nodes become available. Community discussion. |
Spend SP in an order that fits the next fight
- Cover a party-wide need. Consider Jewel Slot+, longer buff or debuff effects, healer improvements, or Charge support where applicable.
- Unlock defining role actions. A needed heal, revival, barrier, or support skill can change what a character contributes more than a small status increase.
- Match damage to the encounter. Check enemy weaknesses, target placement, and attack trajectories before investing in a damage branch. Skill Trajectories can hit multiple targets along different paths, so positioning and turn order affect their value. Xbox Wire’s overview describes the trajectory-based combat.
- Rotate the party. Select the strongest combination for the upcoming battle instead of treating one lineup as mandatory. Xbox Wire guidance.
- Reset when the plan stops fitting. Xbox Wire Japan says Release Mode resets Growth Map choices at no cost. Reallocate for a boss or a different party role, then change the setup again when useful. Xbox Wire Japan.
- Seek advanced skills as progression opens them. The development team points to Divine Communication Network quests and suggests the Ice trial as a useful foothold for unlocking advanced skills. Developer interview.
How to choose between two builds
Compare what each build enables in the fight you expect, not just how many nodes it unlocks. A practical comparison asks:
- Does one build add a missing role action, such as healing, revival, a barrier, or party support?
- Do its elements and attack trajectories suit the enemy’s weaknesses and positions?
- Can the character afford the MP and turns the plan requires?
- Will the investment remain useful across several encounters, or is it best treated as a temporary boss setup?
This approach follows the game’s trajectory-based combat and the developer’s advice to adjust skills and party members to the encounter; it is a decision framework, not a claim that one route wins every matchup. Developer interview · Xbox Wire.
