What was the final Epic Games Store free game of 2025?
It was Chivalry 2, a multiplayer medieval first-person slasher. Notebookcheck identified it as the last free game of 2025 in a report published on December 31, 2025. The giveaway was part of Epic’s 2025 Holiday Sale, which Epic says ran from December 11, 2025, through January 8, 2026. Epic’s sale guide highlighted Hogwarts Legacy as the first free title; it was not the final giveaway. Epic’s Holiday Sale guide gives the sale dates and framing.
Can I still claim Chivalry 2 for free on Epic Games Store?
No. The reported giveaway ended at 4 p.m. GMT on January 1, 2026. The 2025 holiday promotion is over, and the fact that Epic gave the game away does not establish its current store price or availability.

What kind of game is Chivalry 2?
Epic describes it as “a multiplayer first person slasher inspired by epic medieval movie battles.” Its official product page points to sword fights, flaming arrows, castle sieges, and battlefields with up to 64 players. That figure is the game’s listed battlefield capacity, not a measure of how many people currently play.
The game is multiplayer-only, with combat built around directional attacks and class abilities. Notebookcheck’s coverage discusses deathmatch and siege modes and notes balance criticisms as the reviewer’s assessment, rather than an established consensus. Epic’s Chivalry 2 product page lists Windows as the platform, Torn Banner Studios as developer, Tripwire Interactive as publisher, and multiplayer and controller support among its features.
Was Chivalry 2 given away before?
Yes. Notebookcheck reported that Epic had previously offered Chivalry 2 as a giveaway in 2024, before it returned as the final free title in the 2025 holiday promotion.

Do you need a controller to play?
No. Epic lists controller support, so a controller is an option rather than a requirement. The available sources do not establish that a controller or keyboard and mouse is better; choose based on your own input preference.
