If Roblox says “Roblox does not support Admin installation, please rerun RobloxPlayerInstaller without admin privilege,” close the installer and Roblox, then run the installer normally—not as an administrator. Check that Windows compatibility settings are not forcing the installer or Roblox launcher to run elevated. The error’s wording is the clearest available guidance for this specific message.
1. Rerun the installer without administrator privileges
- Close the Roblox installer and any open Roblox processes.
- Find
RobloxPlayerInstallerin File Explorer. If you are unsure where it was downloaded, check your Downloads folder. - Right-click the installer and choose Properties → Compatibility.
- If Run this program as an administrator is selected, clear the checkbox, choose Apply, then OK.
- Double-click the installer to run it normally. Do not choose Run as administrator.
A troubleshooting guide describes the Compatibility setting, but recommends administrator access—a suggestion that conflicts with the installer message. Follow the message’s explicit instruction instead. Partition Wizard’s troubleshooting guide is not confirmation of an official Roblox fix.
2. Check your Windows account and UAC
If the installer still shows the error, check whether you are signed in to Windows with the built-in Administrator account or have disabled User Account Control (UAC). A Roblox user reported resolving their case by enabling UAC, reinstalling, and using a normal account; another reply advised against the built-in Administrator account. These are community reports, not an official diagnosis or a guaranteed fix. The reported discussion provides no basis for changing security settings beyond this cautious diagnostic.
If possible, sign in to a standard Windows user account with UAC enabled and try running the installer normally. Avoid broad security changes or registry edits: the available evidence does not establish that they are needed or safe for this error.

3. Reinstall only if the normal launch attempt fails
If the error continues, uninstall Roblox through Windows’ installed-app settings, then reinstall it using Roblox’s current official distribution route. A third-party guide and a community report mention reinstalling, but neither establishes that reinstalling fixes this exact message for everyone. The third-party guide describes reinstalling without establishing an official procedure for this error.
4. If the message persists
Contact Roblox Support and include the exact error text, your Windows account type, whether the installer was set to run as administrator, and whether UAC is enabled. A user-shared installer log includes an HTTP 502 telemetry request failure as a separate entry; that log does not establish that the 502 caused the privilege error. The log discussion is not an official explanation of the error.
