Ubisoft confirmed an investigation into For Honor game crashes reported when certain new heroes are present on the battlefield. The developer said the team was working on the issue but gave no resolution date. The statement concerns crashes in the game—not a confirmed Windows blue screen (BSOD)—and does not establish that the problem is still active today.
What Ubisoft confirmed about the For Honor crashes
In a For Honor Player Support thread titled “Crashing Almost Every Session,” players described crashes during matches and speculated about particular AI-controlled heroes. Those reports are player observations, not Ubisoft’s diagnosis.

Ubisoft developer Ubi-Vinci later wrote: “We now have an official investigation into the game crashing when certain new heroes are present on the battlefield. I can’t tell you when the game team will be able to resolve this, but they are actively working on it.” Ubisoft Player Support thread
This confirms an investigated game-crash issue and active work at the time of the reply. It does not identify a root cause, confirm that a specific hero or AI behavior causes the crashes, or say that Windows itself crashes.

Does this confirm a Windows BSOD?
No. A game crash and a Windows blue screen are different symptoms. Ubisoft’s statement refers to For Honor crashing; it does not confirm a BSOD, provide Windows stop-code details, or attribute an operating-system failure to the game. If your whole PC displays a blue-screen stop error or restarts, treat that as a separate system-level symptom when troubleshooting or contacting support.
What PC players can do
Ubisoft’s general For Honor technical-issues guidance recommends using the in-game benchmark to check how the game runs on your current setup. For continuing issues such as crashes, follow Ubisoft’s general troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, contact Ubisoft Support and attach DxDiag and MSInfo reports. These are general diagnostic steps, not a confirmed fix for crashes associated with new heroes.

A separate Ubisoft developer reply to a January 2025 crash report asked the player to follow PC troubleshooting and provide PC specifications if the issue continued. That exchange is separate from the later hero-related investigation and does not confirm its cause or status. Ubisoft Player Support reply

Ubisoft’s March 13, 2025 patch notes describe a different crash: in certain cases, the Ubisoft Connect overlay could interact incorrectly with third-party software installed on a PC and crash For Honor at launch. The documented workaround for that condition is to deactivate the overlay in Ubisoft Connect Settings. March 13, 2025 patch notes

This workaround is for the specified overlay-related launch crash. Ubisoft did not identify it as a remedy for the in-match crashes associated with certain heroes or for a Windows BSOD.
Is the hero-related crash issue fixed?
The developer’s statement confirms the investigation was active when posted, but does not establish whether a later update resolved it. The available confirmation provides no expected resolution date, and the cited information does not verify the issue’s present status. Check current official For Honor announcements or contact Ubisoft Support for an up-to-date answer.
