No—F1 24 is not currently free. The free-play weekend behind the “Forget Black Friday” headline ran November 21–25, 2024, and has ended. It was a time-limited trial, not a permanent free-to-keep giveaway.
What happened to F1 24’s free offer?
Electronic Arts announced a free-play weekend for F1 24 from November 21 through November 25, 2024. Players could try the game during that window; the event is over. EA’s Season 4 announcement is the primary source for the dates and offer details.

The headline’s “completely free” referred to access during the trial period. It did not mean players could claim and keep the full game at no cost. Contemporary coverage by T3 described the same event as a free trial.
Can you still get F1 24 for free?
The November 2024 trial has ended, and the sources documenting it do not establish a current F1 24 free offer. Check your platform’s store for current purchase prices or any new promotion; availability and pricing can vary by region and change over time. EA’s F1 24 product page lists supported storefronts.

A separate EA notice concerned a free trial of F1 25, not F1 24. That trial was scheduled for September 9–14, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and September 10–14, 2026 on Steam; those dates have also passed. It does not change the status of the F1 24 event. EA’s F1 25 notice identifies that offer and its dates.
Was F1 24 free to keep?
No. The promotion granted temporary access. EA said players could buy the game at 60% off its standard retail price from platform retailers during the November 21–25, 2024 event. Players who purchased during those dates could keep their trial progress and unlocked content, according to EA’s announcement. That discount was part of the historical event, not a current price.

Which platforms had the free weekend?
EA listed PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC. T3 specified the platforms as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC through Steam. EA’s launch announcement says F1 24 released on May 31, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC through EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam; the launch-platform list should not be confused with the more specific list of storefronts named for the free weekend.
