Is Forever Skies worth playing?
It is most likely to appeal if you want a survival game where designing and flying a base is central, rather than simply a way to get from one location to another. Its mix of scavenging, crafting, airborne exploration, and trips to a dangerous surface gives the premise two connected spaces to work with.
Steam’s English-language user-review snapshot showed 78% positive across 4,939 reviews overall, while its recent-review panel showed 55% positive across 111 reviews. Those are changing Steam user-review figures, not critic scores or a verdict across all platforms; check the Steam page for the current numbers. This snapshot alone does not establish how the game performs on each console or the state of its latest update.

Is Forever Skies multiplayer, and does it have cross-play?
Yes. Steam lists both single-player and online co-op. The developer’s FAQ says cross-play is not supported, so players on different platforms cannot rely on joining the same co-op session. Confirm your group’s platform before buying for multiplayer. Developer FAQ

When did Forever Skies leave Early Access, and is it still getting updates?
Forever Skies entered Steam Early Access on June 22, 2023, and reached full release on April 14, 2025. In its FAQ last updated July 27, 2026, developer Far From Home reported that three major updates had followed the 1.0 release. Xbox Wire also reported that The Final Echoes launched alongside the Xbox release. These dated milestones show post-launch support through that point; they do not establish a future update schedule. What should you check before buying?
- Co-op: Make sure everyone is buying on the same platform; cross-play is unavailable.
