“Lag” in Brawl Stars can mean two different problems: delayed actions, connection warnings, or players teleporting suggest a connection issue; choppy animation and visibly falling frame rate point more toward device performance or software. Identify which you are seeing first, then try the safe checks below. No single setting is a guaranteed fix.
First, tell connection lag from FPS drops
- Likely connection trouble: actions respond late, you see connection warnings, players snap or teleport, or you disconnect. Start by checking your network and whether other internet services are affected.
- Likely frame-rate or device trouble: animation looks choppy or slows down, even when actions and other players otherwise seem responsive. Check the phone’s performance, software, storage, and compatibility.
This distinction is a practical diagnostic, not a guarantee: symptoms can overlap. Supercell lists unstable connection and crashing as separate support topics, which is a useful reminder that “lag” is not one diagnosis. See Brawl Stars Troubleshooting.
Try low-risk checks before changing anything disruptive
If the phone feels slow or the game is choppy
- Restart the phone. Google recommends restarting a slow Android device and checking whether the issue changes.
- Install available Android and app updates. Update the operating system and Brawl Stars through the normal update route for your device.
- Check available storage. Google says an Android phone can start having problems when less than 10% of its storage is free. This is general phone guidance, not a Brawl Stars-specific threshold; free space if storage is nearly full.
- Close apps you are not using. Then try Brawl Stars again and see whether the symptom changes.
These are Google’s general Android troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed game fixes. Android menu names vary by manufacturer; if you cannot find a setting, follow your phone maker’s instructions. Google’s guidance is at Speed up a slow Android device.
If actions are delayed or the connection is unstable
- Check the network settings on the phone, as Google recommends for connection slowness.
- Compare with another available connection if practical. Treat this as a diagnostic experiment: if the symptom changes, that is useful evidence, but it does not by itself prove the cause or establish that one network is always better.
- Check whether other internet services also have trouble. If broader internet problems persist, Google recommends contacting the network administrator, internet service provider, or mobile carrier, as applicable.
A speed-test result alone cannot identify the cause of a Brawl Stars problem. Supercell’s support index includes an “Unstable Connection” topic, but the detailed network steps are not established here; do not treat the general Android recommendations above as Supercell-specific instructions.

Check whether your device meets Brawl Stars’ listed minimums
Supercell’s support article currently lists these minimum specifications. The support result does not show a publication date, and requirements can change, so check the live My game crashes! page before relying on them.

Meeting the listed minimums does not guarantee smooth play. Supercell notes that device capabilities differ, and that modified Android operating systems or custom ROMs may make the game unstable. If the problem continues, Supercell asks players to contact support with a detailed description.

What Supercell’s 2026 loading update does—and does not—show
In a July 10, 2026 engineering article, Supercell reported that its loading-system work reduced loading time on some older Android devices from around 35 seconds to roughly five or six seconds, and on newer iOS devices from about seven seconds to about two and a half. Those are company-reported results for the described device groups and for opening/loading the game. Why “2022” no longer describes the current iOS requirement
The title’s year is historical, not a current compatibility label. In an announcement dated October 17, 2022, Supercell said support was ending for devices below iOS 11 and Android 7.0 at that time. Its current support result lists iOS 14 or later, so use the live requirement rather than the older cutoff when checking an iPhone or iPad. See End of Support: Below iOS 11 and Android 7.0.

When to contact support
If the symptom remains after the reversible checks, contact Supercell through its Brawl Stars Troubleshooting support page. Describe what happens—connection warnings or delayed actions, choppy frames, crashes, or a mix—along with your device model, operating-system version, and when the problem occurs. That detail helps distinguish a connection report from a performance or stability issue.
