Fortnite added the “Bye Bye Bye” emote to its Item Shop in September 2024, pairing *NSYNC’s song with the dance sequence popularized in Deadpool & Wolverine. It originally cost 500 V-Bucks. Epic’s current Item Shop listing marks it unavailable, and no return date is established.
What is Fortnite’s “Bye Bye Bye” emote?
It is a Fortnite cosmetic emote set to *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” the song originally released in 2000. The emote draws on the dance sequence associated with Deadpool & Wolverine, which brought the track and choreography renewed attention. The in-game description reported by AllThings. How is: “Ciao, au revoir, sayonara… you get the idea.” AllThings. How’s item-history guide gives the description and rotation details.
When did it arrive, and what did it cost?
Fortnite introduced the emote in the Chapter 5, Season 4 Item Shop in September 2024. Launch coverage dates its arrival to September 23 or 24, depending on the report and time zone; an item-history report identifies September 24 as its first appearance. ComicBook.com’s September 23, 2024 report and Tech Times’ September 24, 2024 report both reported a launch price of 500 V-Bucks. That is the historical price, not a price currently offered for purchase.
Is the “Bye Bye Bye” emote in the Item Shop right now?
No. Epic’s official Item Shop listing for “Bye Bye Bye” currently marks the emote unavailable. Epic’s page confirms the listing status, but does not give a reason for it or indicate when it might return.

AllThings. How reports that the emote appeared in the shop for six consecutive days, from September 24 through September 29, 2024. Its guide, updated April 28, 2026, says Epic had not announced an official return date by then. Shop rotations can change, so check Epic’s Item Shop for the latest status rather than treating the historical 500 V-Bucks price as a live offer.
When will it come back?
No return date is established. Epic has not provided a schedule on the listing, and the item-history report does not identify an official rerun announcement. Claims that it will return in a particular season are speculation unless Epic confirms them.

Does the reported lawsuit explain its unavailability?
That has not been established. Beebom reported that choreographer Darrin Henson filed a lawsuit against Sony Music Holdings on March 27, 2026, alleging unauthorized use of choreography in Deadpool & Wolverine and Fortnite; the report said Epic was not a defendant. The allegation is not a court finding, and the available report does not show that it caused the emote’s current shop status. The docket could not be accessed for confirmation of the case’s later status. Beebom’s April 6, 2026 report discusses the lawsuit, but does not establish Epic’s reason for listing the item as unavailable.
