Sony’s first State of Play presentation of 2025 aired on February 12, after being announced the day before. Sony scheduled more than 40 minutes of PS5 game news and updates; the pre-show announcement did not name any games. The official recap later detailed new reveals, release-date announcements, gameplay updates and PlayStation Plus news.
When and where was the February 2025 State of Play?
Sony announced the presentation on February 11, 2025, and scheduled it for February 12 at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. The listed international times were 11 p.m. CET on February 12 and 7 a.m. JST on February 13. Sony said it would stream on YouTube and Twitch in English and Japanese, with an advertised runtime of more than 40 minutes. Sony’s announcement described the show as celebrating “a creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world.”
What did Sony say before the show?
The announcement promised news and updates on games coming to PS5, but it did not identify a specific game lineup. That distinction matters: titles discussed in the recap below were revealed or covered during the presentation, rather than confirmed in advance.
Sony also warned creators that the broadcast could include licensed music it did not control. Licensing agreements could affect co-streams or saved video-on-demand archives; Sony advised creators making recap videos or reposting clips to omit copyrighted music.
