Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 2 had a crime theme, naming it LAWLESS! Its February 21, 2025 announcement centered the season on Crime City, outlaw characters and fictional heists. The season ended May 2, 2025, Eastern Time, so this is a look back at a completed season—not current Battle Pass content.
What made Chapter 6 Season 2 a crime-themed season?
Epic framed LAWLESS around criminals, heists and a city run by a crime kingpin. The announcement’s tagline, “There’s no such thing as honor among thieves,” made the premise explicit. Crime City was the central setting, with bank robberies, armored transports and a train robbery among the season’s heist scenarios.
How the crime theme appeared in the island and story
Crime City and other locations
Crime City was the season’s signature location. Epic named the Hostile Hotel, Wise Guys Bookstore and Launder Mat as places within it. The wider island also included Outlaw Oasis, Shiny Shafts and Lonewolf Lair, extending the outlaw setting beyond the city.
Fletcher Kane and the outlaw cast
Epic presented Fletcher Kane as a crime kingpin and surrounded the season with outlaw characters. The setting, named locations and cast all supported the same premise: a Fortnite island shaped by criminal factions and their rivalries.

How the theme carried into gameplay
Heists were part of the season’s fictional gameplay, not real-world criminal guidance. Epic described bank and train robberies, armored transports, vaults opened with Thermite, and seasonal systems involving Gold Rush, Bars and Dill Bits, and Black Markets. These details tied the criminal setting to in-game objectives and items rather than leaving the theme as a story label alone.

The historical announcement said the LAWLESS Battle Pass included free and premium rewards. At the time, Epic listed the premium pass at 1,000 V-Bucks or access through Fortnite Crew. Those were season-specific terms; they should not be read as a current offer or as evidence that the pass remains available.
