It launched on May 24, 2024, and ended on August 15, 2024, at 11 PM ET. Its Battle Pass, quests, timed concert, and other limited-time rewards are no longer current offers. The season paired a wasteland and vehicle-focused Battle Royale update with three very different crossovers: Fallout’s T-60 Power Armor, X-Men’s Wastelander Magneto, and Metallica content spread across several Fortnite modes.
What changed in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3?
Wrecked centered Battle Royale on a sandstorm-scarred wasteland in the south of the island. The season’s named locations included Redline Rig, Nitrodrome, and Brutal Beachhead, and its gameplay leaned heavily on cars, vehicle mods, and Nitro. Epic described Nitro as something players could use in a vehicle or on themselves, with Nitro Splash and Nitro Barrels also part of the update.
Epic summed up the season’s driving focus this way: “In Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked, get in the driver’s seat and bring the Nitro to these vehicular villains!” Epic’s Wrecked announcement introduced the theme, locations, gameplay, and Battle Pass.
How Fallout and X-Men appeared in Wrecked
Both crossovers were tied to the 2024 Battle Pass, but they entered the season differently: Fallout’s T-60 Power Armor was a Battle Pass Outfit, while Magneto was announced as a reward unlocked through Battle Pass quests.

Fallout’s T-60 Power Armor
The Fallout crossover brought the Brotherhood of Steel’s T-60 Power Armor into Fortnite as a Battle Pass Outfit. The source establishes an in-game cosmetic, not a physical collectible or a current way to obtain it.
X-Men’s Wastelander Magneto
Epic announced Wastelander Magneto on July 2, 2024, with matching accessories and Magneto Gauntlets. The Outfit was unlocked through Battle Pass quests during the season; those quests and their limited availability have passed. Epic’s Magneto announcement details the character and related content.

What the Wrecked Battle Pass offered
The pass featured original wasteland characters alongside T-60 Power Armor. At launch, Epic listed the Battle Pass at 950 V-Bucks and said leveling it could return up to 1,500 V-Bucks. Those are the terms Epic stated for the 2024 season, not current prices or offers. The season and its pass ended August 15, 2024, at 11 PM ET.
Metallica’s crossover covered more Fortnite modes
Metallica had the broadest footprint of Wrecked’s three crossovers. Epic said its content arrived with version 30.10 and spanned Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing. The additions included a Battle Royale point of interest based on the M72 World Tour, the Ride the Lightning guitar and Metallica Loot Island; Festival outfits and Jam Tracks; and the Thrash Mountain Rocket Racing track.

The timed Metallica concert
Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. was a six-song experience with six showtimes across June 22 and 23, 2024. Epic said it appeared in Discover for 30 minutes at each showtime and supported parties of up to four. All of those event windows have passed.
Festival Battle Stage
Festival Season 4 introduced Battle Stage, a competitive mode for 16 players, with one winner per match. That player count is Epic’s stated format, not a measure of how many people played the mode.
