There is no confirmation in the available sources that a Mariah Carey NPC or free Mariah Carey reward is currently available in Fortnite. The claim comes from a historical community discussion, not an official Epic Games announcement, and speculation about using an emote during an NPC interaction does not mean the emote is added to your account.
What did the Mariah Carey leak claim?
A historical Reddit discussion circulated a rumor about Mariah Carey appearing as a Fortnite NPC. Players speculated that interacting with the character might let them use an emote for free. That is community speculation, not confirmation from Epic Games, and it does not establish that a Mariah Carey NPC or reward is available now. Source: historical Reddit discussion.
Does interacting with an NPC give you a free emote?
Not necessarily. Being able to use an emote as part of an interaction is different from receiving that emote as an owned item on your account. The discussion itself cautioned against treating a free interaction as proof that players would be granted the emote.
How to check whether a Fortnite reward is real
Epic says legitimate offers appear through the Epic Games Store or Epic’s official websites and social channels. Check those channels for an announcement and the offer’s terms before following instructions or entering account details. Epic also warns players about suspicious external offers.
