In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, Shadow Briefing terminals were reported at different named locations depending on the briefing type. The categorized list below is the one published by Pro Game Guides on April 24, 2024—not an official Epic Games spawn database. These are historical locations and are not confirmed to remain active in Fortnite today.

Pro Game Guides’ April 24, 2024 guide grouped its reported locations by briefing type. A terminal’s availability in a particular match was not guaranteed by the list.

Pro Game Guides’ categorized location list uses “Treasure” for the briefing that sends players after buried loot. A separate March 9, 2024 Prima Games guide calls that category “Plunder.” The terminology and available briefing types could vary over the course of the season; Pro Game Guides also noted that Waxen Wings race briefings were unavailable after an elemental-shrines update.
Which location list should you use?
For the Chapter 5 Season 2 Kickstart quest
If your goal was the Season 2 Kickstart task, the list was narrower than the categorized locations above. In its March 9, 2024 guide, Siliconera suggested Restored Reels, Grim Gate, Brawler’s Battleground, and Reckless Railways as drop locations for the objective. Its author called Restored Reels the easiest option based on personal experience; that recommendation does not establish that a terminal would appear there in every match.

The short list was intended to help with that quest, not to catalogue every briefing type across the map. For that reason, its inclusion of Brawler’s Battleground and omission of many locations in the later categorized list are not necessarily contradictions. See Siliconera’s Kickstart guide.
For a particular briefing type
Use the categorized list when looking for a specific objective, such as a Bounty or Vehicle briefing. The types offered different tasks: Bounty marked a player target, Supply called in a crate, Treasure or Plunder led to buried chests, and Vehicle provided a vehicle-related task. The task you wanted to pursue could matter as much as the location.

How to accept a Shadow Briefing
- Approach an available Shadow Briefing terminal. Prima Games described the terminals as white magnifying-glass icons on the minimap.
- Interact with the terminal and choose the Accept or checkmark prompt.
- If you were working on the Chapter 5 Season 2 Kickstart quest, accept three briefings. The March 9, 2024 guides from Prima Games and Siliconera say you did not need to finish the assigned tasks for credit. Prima Games also reported that progress could carry across matches and party members could contribute.
Kickstart acceptance was not the Week 7 completion challenge
Do not confuse the Kickstart requirement to accept three briefings with the separate Week 7 challenge covered by Pro Game Guides. That challenge required completing briefing objectives eight times and, according to its April 24, 2024 guide, awarded 10,000 XP. For that challenge, accepting a briefing alone was not enough.

The location names and quest rules here refer specifically to Chapter 5 Season 2, as described in guides published in March and April 2024. Those guides do not establish that the same terminals or quests remain in Fortnite in October 2026. Treat the map list as a historical reference rather than a guarantee for a current match.
