Epic does identify SpongeBob as a licensed Fortnite Sidekick, and a third-party shop archive shows SpongeBob and Patrick Sidekicks in the September 7, 2026 shop. Earlier leak reports discussed encrypted or datamined cosmetics, but they did not establish a Season 7 release.
Is SpongeBob coming to Fortnite Season 7?
That timing is unconfirmed. Epic’s official Fortnite news listing and its Sidekick documentation do not announce a SpongeBob Season 7 collaboration. The reviewed evidence supports SpongeBob’s presence in Fortnite, but not the claim that the content is a new or upcoming Season 7 release.
Epic’s June 5, 2026 UEFN documentation names SpongeBob as a licensed Sidekick and says licensed Sidekicks cannot be used as NPCs in creator-made experiences. That confirms the character’s licensed Sidekick status, not a season placement.
What SpongeBob content has appeared in Fortnite?
SpongeBob and Patrick Sidekicks
FNDB’s third-party Item Shop archive for September 7, 2026 lists SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as Sidekicks, each at 1,800 V-Bucks on that archived date. These are historical archive prices, not confirmation that either item is currently available or will return at the same price.

Other archived cosmetics
The same archive includes the Golden Spatula pickaxe, SpongeBob- and Patrick-themed Crocs Kicks, the Jellyfish Jam emote, and Ice Spice content themed around Bikini Bottom. These are different cosmetic types; they should not all be described as character skins. See the dated FNDB shop archive for the recorded listings.
What did the leaks actually claim?
Coverage updated July 21, 2026 described files found after Fortnite v41.20 as datamined or encrypted material and treated a possible July 24 Item Shop appearance as unconfirmed. A July 23 roundup likewise said the SpongeBob and Ice Spice material was encrypted and that its final shop presentation was not yet clear. Those reports are evidence of what outlets interpreted from game files at the time, not an Epic announcement. The September 7 archive is later evidence that related shop content was listed, so the old July 24 prediction should not be treated as a future release date.

Is the Fortnite SpongeBob collab confirmed?
Yes, SpongeBob’s licensed Sidekick status is confirmed by Epic’s documentation, and the dated third-party archive records SpongeBob-related shop listings. No, the specific claim that this is a Season 7 collaboration is not confirmed by the reviewed official sources. A Sidekick listing also does not mean SpongeBob is a full Outfit or a playable character skin.

The company said Bikini Bottom Prop Hunt received “26M+ impressions” and “95M minutes played” during its launch week. These are GameSquare-reported figures for a UEFN map campaign, not Epic-wide usage statistics and not measurements of the later Sidekick or cosmetic release. See GameSquare’s business update.
