Fortnite’s Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season, Galactic Battle, launched on May 2, 2025. It featured Darth Jar Jar, Emperor Palpatine, pilotable X-wings and TIE fighters, and a run of weekly Star Wars updates. It was a limited Fortnite season—not a permanent standalone Star Wars game.
What was Fortnite: Galactic Battle?
Epic Games announced Galactic Battle on April 29, 2025, calling it Fortnite’s first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season. It began May 2, 2025, with Star Wars content and gameplay planned to arrive in Battle Royale each week. Epic’s announcement framed the season as part of a broader collaboration, not as a separate Star Wars game.
The season was built around a five-part saga. StarWars.com’s announcement schedule listed these chapters:
| Chapter | Announced date |
|---|---|
| Imperial Takeover | May 2, 2025 |
| The Pull of the Force | May 8, 2025 |
| Mandalorian Rising | May 22, 2025 |
| Star Destroyer Bombardment | May 29, 2025 |
| Death Star Sabotage | June 7, 2025 |
Those are the dates in StarWars.com’s announcement schedule; they describe the planned sequence, rather than independently confirming the execution of every event.

Was Darth Jar Jar in Fortnite?
Yes. Epic named Darth Jar Jar as a playable character for Galactic Battle, alongside Emperor Palpatine. The character’s reveal was announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 20, 2025, with Ahmed Best—known for playing Jar Jar Binks and Jedi Master Kelleran Beq—helping unveil the collaboration. StarWars.com also described Darth Jar Jar using Force Lightning.
Epic’s announcement does not specify whether Darth Jar Jar was a Battle Pass reward or an Item Shop purchase. StarWars.com separately described a Star Wars-themed Battle Pass featuring Emperor Palpatine and General Grievous, and Item Shop offerings that included Mace Windu; those details do not establish Darth Jar Jar’s acquisition method.

Is Fortnite’s Star Wars collaboration still happening?
The 2025 season itself is no longer upcoming. Fortnite’s April 30, 2026 overview described additional Star Wars games and creator-built islands, indicating that the wider collaboration continued beyond Galactic Battle. Those later experiences should be distinguished from the 2025 Battle Royale season: a creator-built island or another Fortnite game is not the same thing as returning to that season’s scheduled chapters. Fortnite’s 2026 overview covers those later additions.
