The 420,000 Mora figure is the ascension subtotal, not the full cost of getting Xianyun to level 90. HoYoWiki’s broader character-leveling summary lists 2,092,530 Mora and 419 Hero’s Wit, including character EXP materials; those figures cover a different cost category.

All three talents from level 1 to 10
Triple the one-talent quantities to crown all three combat talents: 4,957,500 Mora; 9 Teachings, 63 Guides, and 114 Philosophies of Gold; 18 Divining, 66 Sealed, and 93 Forbidden Curse Scrolls; 18 Lightless Eyes of the Maelstrom; and 3 Crowns of Insight. This is a substantial investment, so you can prioritize the talents you use most rather than raising all three to 10.

Where to farm Xianyun’s materials
Clearwater Jade
Clearwater Jade is a Chenyu Vale local specialty. Gather it around the region, using the in-game map or a recently updated route map to navigate. Route guides do not all count the same collection sources, so their reported totals are not a universal current node count. Game8’s guide, updated January 9, 2026, reports 84 obtainable Clearwater Jade under its accounting; treat that as a guide-specific route count, not the total needed for Xianyun’s full ascension. You need 168, so plan for multiple collection rounds or use any stock already in your inventory.
Cloudseam Scales and Vayuda Turquoise
Defeat the Solitary Suanni world boss in Chenyu Vale for Cloudseam Scales. The boss can also provide Anemo gemstone material, making it a practical place to work toward both ascension requirements when its drops match your needs. Gemstone grades and quantities vary by drops; higher Vayuda Turquoise grades can be crafted from lower ones, so do not plan on a guaranteed number of boss runs.
Samachurl scrolls
Divining, Sealed, and Forbidden Curse Scrolls come from Samachurls. Higher-tier scroll drops depend on enemy level: the cited farming guide identifies Sealed Scrolls from level 40+ enemies and Forbidden Curse Scrolls from level 60+ enemies. Hunt the enemy types shown in the Adventurer’s Handbook and craft up higher grades if you have enough lower-tier drops.
Gold talent books
Teachings, Guides, and Philosophies of Gold come from the Taishan Mansion talent domain. The referenced guide lists Gold books on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, but domain schedules can be subject to change. Check the domain screen in-game before spending Resin or planning a run.

Lightless Eyes of the Maelstrom
The All-Devouring Narwhal in Fontaine’s Shadow of Another World trounce domain drops Lightless Eyes of the Maelstrom. It is a weekly boss material, so obtaining six for one talent can take multiple weekly reward claims if you have no stock. Existing inventory or a currently available conversion option may change how many claims you need; check your crafting and boss menus in-game.
Crowns of Insight
Each talent’s level 9-to-10 upgrade consumes one Crown of Insight. Crowns have been available through events and offering systems, but availability and quantities vary with progression and current events. Check the active event and offering menus rather than assuming a particular Crown source is currently available.

A practical farming order
- Check your inventory first. Count weekly boss drops and Gold books before spending Resin; these are often the materials that determine how quickly talent upgrades can be completed.
- Farm the Solitary Suanni. Collect Cloudseam Scales and use any Vayuda Turquoise drops that fit your remaining needs. Do not assume a fixed gemstone yield per run.
- Collect Clearwater Jade across Chenyu Vale. Use an in-game or current route map and account for the gap between the route guide’s counted pickups and the 168 required.
- Farm Samachurls for scrolls. Target enemies at the appropriate levels for higher-grade drops, then craft grades as needed.
- Run Taishan Mansion when Gold books are available. Confirm the current schedule on the domain screen before planning Resin use.
- Claim the All-Devouring Narwhal’s weekly rewards as needed. Keep doing so until you have the Lightless Eyes required for your chosen talent upgrades, unless inventory or a valid conversion option covers the shortfall.
- Use Crowns selectively. Spend one for each talent you decide to take from level 9 to 10.
Plan around the upgrade you actually want
Ascension and talents draw on different bottlenecks. Level 90 ascension chiefly calls for Clearwater Jade and Cloudseam Scales; talent investment adds Gold books, Lightless Eyes, and Crowns. If you are not planning to crown every talent, calculate the talent materials only for the upgrades you intend to make. Overworld specialties and enemy drops can be collected along routes, while Narwhal materials depend on weekly reward claims.
