Was Ghost of Yōtei delayed?
The official announcements document a progression from a 2025 window to a specific date, October 2, 2025, and then confirm the worldwide launch on that date. They do not report a delay. The April date announcement also described open-world exploration, activities returning from Ghost of Tsushima, and the ability to set up a campfire; those are details from the announcement, not a review assessment.
What PlayStation said about the game
The September 2024 announcement introduced a new protagonist, a new story, and a new region of Japan. At launch, Sucker Punch Co-Founder and Studio Head Brian Fleming described it as “a story of healing and redemption that runs deeper than vengeance, told through the eyes of a new hero set in the breathtaking edge of Japan.”
