Its launch-era design paired daytime preparation with nighttime survival modes, and one limited-time mode let players hunt as Chucky while others tried to survive. The announcement does not confirm whether the game or Chucky mode is currently available.
What is Griefville: Survive the Nightmare!?
Universal Products & Experiences described Griefville: Survive the Nightmare! as an interactive Roblox horror experience inspired by horror films of the 1980s and 1990s, developed with RocketRide Games. Players enter the town of Griefville, take on quests, encounter creepy characters, and use nightmare portals to access different modes. Universal’s March 6, 2024 announcement framed it as a game built around horror-movie atmosphere as well as jump scares.
RocketRide Games CEO Louis-Rene Auclair said the goal was to evoke the shared cultural touchstones of ’80s and ’90s horror for older Roblox users, emphasizing atmosphere, tension, and the fun of feeling lost in a classic horror film. Universal’s Bill Kispert, SVP and GM of Games & Digital Platforms, called Chucky synonymous with horror and said the character would add an unexpected twist.
How was the gameplay supposed to work?
The announced loop moved between preparation during the day and danger at night. Players could enter nighttime modes through nightmare portals, then confront threats directly or use stealth to survive. The announcement also described plans to expand the map and rotate horror-film inspirations; those were launch plans, not confirmation of later updates.

What was Chucky’s role?
At launch, Chucky was announced for a limited-time mode with an asymmetrical setup: one player could hunt as Chucky while the others tried to survive. The announcement described regular attacks and a special move that let Chucky jump onto a victim’s back. Universal’s player-facing phrasing included “Play as Chucky” and “Survive the night (or don’t).”
That description is specific to the launch announcement. It does not establish whether the Chucky mode is still in rotation or whether it can be accessed now.

Current availability is unconfirmed. The official Roblox page linked from the announcement could not be verified, so there is no basis here to say that the experience or limited-time mode remains live. Before looking for the game, check Roblox for a current listing and read its details to see whether Chucky content is included.
The announcement also does not name a current Chucky collectible or say that merchandise is needed to play. Griefville is a Roblox game experience; any Chucky or Good Guy doll would be separate physical merchandise.
