Geoff Keighley’s cryptic teaser ahead of The Game Awards 2025 was for Divinity, a new game from Larian Studios. The God of War and The Elder Scrolls 6 theories were fan speculation—not the reveal.
What was Geoff Keighley’s cryptic TGA teaser?
On November 29, 2025, Keighley posted an image captioned “regal.inspiring.thickness.” The image showed a door- or rock-like structure with armored figures, demonic imagery and animal faces, but the post did not name a game. GamesRadar reported on the teaser and its date.
Was the teaser for God of War or The Elder Scrolls 6?
No. Those were among the theories fans drew from the image, alongside guesses such as Half-Life 3 and Diablo. GameSpot’s retrospective said early franchise guesses including God of War, The Elder Scrolls 6 and Diablo 4 were ruled out by people familiar with the teaser; trademark clues instead pointed toward Divinity. GameSpot’s account of the speculation and clues distinguishes those early guesses from the eventual answer.
What did the teaser turn out to be?
At The Game Awards on December 11, 2025, Larian Studios revealed Divinity, a new game in its series. Windows Central described the announcement trailer as a ritual scene that turns horrific and reported Keighley characterizing the game as Larian’s biggest yet. That is a reported description, not a measurable comparison backed by figures. Windows Central’s Game Awards 2025 recap covers the reveal.

The new game is called Divinity; it is not Divinity: Original Sin 2. The Game Awards mystery is therefore resolved, even though the reveal report does not establish the new game’s release date or platforms.
What can you play while waiting for more details?
Larian says Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, and that it can be played as a standalone game. It is an existing entry in the series, not another name for the newly announced Divinity. Larian’s platform and standalone-game information covers the older title.

Did The Elder Scrolls 6 appear at The Game Awards 2025?
No. GamesRadar’s post-show coverage confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 did not appear at the 2025 show and identified the teaser’s statue with Larian’s Divinity. GamesRadar’s post-show report addresses both points.
