For the Grand Library’s stolen forbidden-book investigation, choose the five testimony responses below in order. The Steward’s deductions identify Javier; follow the quest marker to apprehend him.
What are the five Grand Library investigation answers?
- Raphael: Choose the response saying he had a meeting with a noble from out of town.
- Eleanor: Choose the response saying she was in the lab with Tarho all day and suspected the guard.
- Tarho: Choose the response about working on research with Grunil, stopping by the library, and being scolded by the librarian.
- Anselmo, the guard: Choose the response saying the library records visits but Raphael’s record is missing.
- Javier: Choose the response about his insistence that he could not have stolen the book because he knew neither of forbidden books nor the ancient language.
These are answer cues, not guaranteed verbatim menu text. Guides vary slightly in wording, especially for the missing-record clue; select the option that matches the testimony detail.
How do you start and complete the investigation?
- At the Scholastone Institute’s Grand Library, speak with the Institute Steward about the missing forbidden book.
- Speak with Amaris to get the suspect leads.
- Question the suspects before returning to the Steward. Walkthroughs list Raphael, Eleanor, Javier, Anselmo, Tarho, and Grunil in their suspect discussions; use the in-game dialogue if a guide’s description or naming seems inconsistent.
- Return to the Steward and select the five answer cues above.
- Follow the marker to Javier and apprehend him to advance or complete the case.
The walkthroughs place the case after the Scholastone Institute story events associated with Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge. Who stole the forbidden book?
The Steward identifies Javier based on the testimony, and the next step is to apprehend him at the quest marker. His claim that he did not know about forbidden books or the ancient language is the fifth clue in the answer sequence.

What reward is associated with the quest chain?
The Crimson Desert Database lists the Kinetic Dolphin Family as a reward for Contradiction, along with Hernand contribution. The Kinetic Dolphin Family is an in-game trophy or display collectible, not evidence of a physical merchandise item.
