To activate the Grand Lift of Dectus in Elden Ring, collect both Dectus Medallion halves, then stand at the lift and choose Hoist Medallion. The left half is in a chest atop the tower at Fort Haight in Limgrave; the right half is in a chest at Fort Faroth in Caelid’s Dragonbarrow. The lift connects Liurnia of the Lakes to Altus Plateau.
Where to find both Dectus Medallion halves
- Left half — Fort Haight, Limgrave: Reach the top of the fort’s tower and open the chest. The Dectus Medallion (Left) is a key item.
- Right half — Fort Faroth, Dragonbarrow, Caelid: Find and open the chest inside the fort to get the Dectus Medallion (Right), also a key item.
How to use the Grand Lift of Dectus
- Travel to the Grand Lift of Dectus in northern Liurnia.
- Approach the lift’s activation point with both medallion halves in your inventory.
- When the prompt appears, select Hoist Medallion. The lift carries you to Altus Plateau.
The right medallion’s in-game description explains that “Brandishing the medallion with both halves conjoined will activate the Grand Lift of Dectus, connecting the Altus Plateau to Liurnia.” The item descriptions and locations are listed on the community-maintained Eldenpedia right-half page and left-half page.

Can you reach Altus Plateau without the medallions?
Yes. The Grand Lift is one route to Altus Plateau; the Ruin-Strewn Precipice is another. Xbox Wire’s guide to accessing Shadow of the Erdtree identifies both routes. If you want to use the lift itself, however, you need both halves to activate it.
