What is Hades II?
Hades II is Supergiant Games’ first sequel. Its central loop is built around repeated combat runs: setbacks and accomplishments unfold into the story as Melinoë fights through the Underworld and beyond. Supergiant describes it as a “rogue-like dungeon crawler” in which players battle beyond the Underworld of Greek myth using dark sorcery against “the sinister Titan of Time.” Supergiant Games’ Hades II FAQ introduces the premise and answers common questions about the game.
It is a full release, not an Early Access game. The completed version includes the story’s true ending, new events for the voiced cast, additional music, Fated List prophecies, late-game unlockables, and final polish.

What did the full release add?
The September 2025 v1.0 update completed the main story with its true ending and added new events for the voiced cast, music, Fated List prophecies, and late-game unlockables, alongside finishing touches. Supergiant said the game had been in development for more than four and a half years, including about a year and a half in Early Access; that is the developer’s account of its own timeline, not an independent measurement. Which Hades II version should you choose?
The best fit depends on where you play and whether you need a physical copy or to continue a save on another system. These are the platform and format distinctions confirmed by Supergiant:

- For Xbox or PlayStation: the developer’s FAQ, updated April 14, 2026, said it had no plans for physical editions on Xbox Series X|S or PS5. That is a dated statement, not a guarantee about future plans.
- For a PC copy: v1.0 is available through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Cross-saves between those two storefronts are supported.
- For Steam Deck: Supergiant lists the game as Verified on Steam Deck.
There is no price comparison or independently measured performance ranking established here. Supergiant says the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions run at up to 120 frames per second; this is a developer claim, not an independent performance test. Can you transfer Hades II save progress between platforms?
Supergiant confirms cross-saves for two specific pairs: Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam and the Epic Games Store. Cross-saves with other versions are unavailable due to technical limitations. In particular, do not assume a PC save can transfer to a console save: the developer does not confirm that pairing. Is the Hades II soundtrack available?
The completed Hades II Original Soundtrack runs just under four hours, according to Supergiant. The developer lists Steam and Bandcamp as purchase options, and YouTube and other streaming services for listening.
