Halo’s official 13-minute Halo: Campaign Evolved gameplay demo is a work-in-progress playthrough of The Silent Cartographer, captured on Xbox Series X for Halo World Championship 2025. It shows a pre-release build—not necessarily the version players received at launch. The game’s announced July 28, 2026 release date has passed, so this video is best treated as a look back at its development, not as a current playable trial.

Halo Studios’ announcement calls the footage a 4K in-engine gameplay demo and identifies its level as The Silent Cartographer, the fourth mission of Halo: Combat Evolved. Those details identify the footage and its capture context; they do not establish that every moment or feature shown represents the final game. Read Halo Studios’ announcement.
What does the 13-minute Halo demo show?
It presents a playthrough of The Silent Cartographer in the remake’s pre-release build. The official description calls it a full playthrough, but the available material does not establish a frame-by-frame feature inventory or prove that every element in the clip is unchanged in the released game.

The demo is one slice of a larger remake, not a showcase of the entire campaign. In its October 2025 announcement, Xbox Wire described Campaign Evolved as a ground-up remake of the original campaign with Unreal Engine 5 visuals, updated animation, remastered music, re-recorded voice lines, added weapons and vehicles, and three new bonus campaign missions. The studio also announced two-player local split-screen on console and online co-op for up to four players. These are announcement-era details about the game, not features that can all be inferred from this 13-minute level. See Xbox Wire’s October 2025 overview.
Is this the Halo: Campaign Evolved demo on Xbox Series X?
Yes. Halo’s official description says the work-in-progress demo was captured on Xbox Series X, and Halo Studios calls it 4K in-engine footage. That describes the source and presentation of the recording; it is not a guarantee of a particular resolution or performance on every platform or in the released game.
The game was later announced for a global launch on July 28, 2026. Xbox Wire listed Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, Steam and PlayStation 5, as well as day-one availability with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Those are dated launch details; the launch date has passed, and current access, subscription eligibility and regional storefront availability should be checked with the relevant platform. What the demo means for buying the full game
The video is free to watch; it is not a paid demo or a current trial. For the full game, the relevant questions are platform, access method and whether you want solo or co-op play. The July 2026 Xbox Wire announcement lists the platforms and subscription options, while its 2025 overview describes the announced multiplayer modes.

Edition details are dated, not live pricing
Xbox Wire’s June 2026 article listed Standard, Premium and Collector’s editions at publication-time prices. Premium was described as including up to five days of early access, the Alpha Halo Armory Pack and a digital story/art collection. The Collector’s Edition listing included a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue, an LED Cortana chip, a SteelBook, concept-art prints and a physical manual; Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions included a game disc. Halo Studios marked that edition sold out in a June 8 update. These are historical listing details, not confirmation of today’s prices or remaining stock. See the June 2026 edition announcement.
