What is Halo: Flashpoint?
Halo: Flashpoint is a tactical miniatures game in which players field small teams of Spartans, ODST, and Banished warriors in Halo-inspired scenarios. Mantic describes it as a game for two or more players, with a listed play time of 30–90 minutes and a recommended age of 14+. Those are publisher specifications, not results from independent playtesting. Mantic’s official game site lists Slayer, Oddball, and Capture the Flag among the modes, with objectives and victory points shaping play.
The comparison to Warhammer is useful only in a broad sense: both involve miniature figures on a tabletop. Mantic presents Flashpoint as a tactical skirmish game centered on Halo fireteams, weapons, and recognizable game modes; the available product information does not establish that it uses Warhammer’s rules or scale of play.
When did Halo: Flashpoint come out?
September 2024 was not the final retail launch date. Mantic first revealed the game on March 3, 2024, with a Fall 2024 retail window in its initial announcement.

On September 23, Mantic said the schedule had shifted to Q4 and narrowed the expected timing to November, citing factory loading and shipping estimates. It cautioned that the exact week could vary by distribution market. The publisher then identified November as the English-language retail release period in an October 2024 update. So the accurate summary is: announced for Fall 2024, then expected in stores in November 2024—not released in September.
What comes in the Spartan Edition?
Mantic described two editions: Recon, aimed at trying the basics, and Spartan, positioned as the fuller starter experience. The current official site recommends Spartan as the starting point and says it includes the materials needed for two players. Its Spartan Edition product listing specifies:

The miniatures are unpainted, and the terrain requires simple assembly. Paints and hobby tools are optional if you want to customize models or work on the terrain; the listing does not identify them as requirements for playing. In October 2024, Mantic said Halo: Flashpoint was available through tabletop retailers and online, including Amazon and Mantic’s webstore. That records the publisher’s stated sales channels at the time; it does not confirm any particular shop’s current inventory. Check local tabletop stores or current online listings for availability, and confirm that a listing is for the edition you want.
