Yes—Paramount+ cancelled Halo on its service after two seasons. The streamer confirmed on July 19, 2024, that the series would not continue there for season three. That announcement did not establish that the story or franchise was cancelled everywhere, and a later home for season three has not been confirmed by the sources cited here.
What Paramount+ confirmed about Halo season 3
In a July 19, 2024 report, Variety quoted a Paramount+ spokesperson saying: “Paramount+ can confirm that ‘Halo’ will not move forward with a third season on the service.” The wording is specific: it confirms the end of the show’s run on Paramount+, not a franchise-wide cancellation.

Variety also reported that Xbox, Amblin TV and 343 Industries planned to seek another outlet for the series. That was an intention reported at the time, not confirmation of a deal. The available sources do not establish whether another service or network later picked up season three.
What the two released seasons cover
The live-action drama adapts the Xbox Halo franchise and is set in the 26th century, during humanity’s conflict with the Covenant. Amblin describes season one as a 10-episode season. Variety reported that the series debuted in 2022 and that its second season aired from February to March 2024.

What is not established
- The sources cited here do not establish a third-season pickup by another outlet.
- They do not establish that every possible effort to find the series a new home ended without a deal.
- They provide no substantiated reason for Paramount+’s decision, so claims that it was cancelled because of ratings or a particular audience figure are not supported here.
