To earn a Hollow Knight completion achievement, reach the required percentage and finish the game; the target depends on which achievement you want. The standard completion achievements use a 100% target, while the separate full-completion achievement requires 112%. Before planning a route, decide whether you are also aiming for a time limit, Steel Soul mode, or a platform-specific achievement.
Choose your completion target first
Hollow Knight ties its completion percentage to specific game content. The community-maintained completion guide says you can view the percentage after acquiring World Sense. The percentage target alone is not the finish line for the achievements listed below: the wiki says they are awarded after an ending.

These requirements and the distinction between the 100% and 112% targets are documented by the Hollow Knight & Silksong Wiki. Its completion page also says content-pack percentage can substitute for base-game percentage for the listed 100% achievements; that does not make 112% and 100% interchangeable targets.
Plan a route around time and mode
Pick the achievement combination before you begin. A normal 100% run, a sub-20-hour 100% run, a Steel Soul 100% run, and a 112% run have different constraints. If combining objectives, check that the same run satisfies every stated condition rather than assuming progress in one mode or route carries over to another.

- Choose the target: 100% or 112%.
- Add any constraint: under 20 hours or Steel Soul.
- Track completion: after obtaining World Sense, use the in-game percentage and a checklist to identify remaining requirements.
- Finish with an ending: the wiki says the listed completion achievements are awarded after an ending.
Steam Community has user-submitted resources titled “112% Completion Walkthrough with Maps” and “112% Completion Guide & Route.” These are community guides, not walkthroughs authored by Team Cherry. Consult a route that matches your target, and check its details against the live game and the wiki completion page.
Which platform achievement system applies?
Achievement presentation differs by platform. On Steam, achievements are presented through Steam’s achievement system; its Hollow Knight global achievements page displays achievement statistics that can change over time. Nintendo Switch does not have a universal platform achievement system, according to the wiki: it uses in-game Feats. The wiki notes these were called Quests before version 1.5.12459.

Because the platform changes how achievements are presented, confirm the relevant system for your copy before using an achievement checklist. The wiki achievement page documents the distinctions. Do not assume an external platform achievement will appear on Switch.
