Who has reached the Far Lands?
The Far Lands timeline names KilloCrazyMan as the first person to complete the recorded journey to the Overworld Far Lands. It logs his arrival on June 20, 2020, at a recorded travel distance of 12,550,821 blocks. That figure describes the timeline’s journey record, not a universal coordinate for every route or version. The community timeline is still being constructed, so its list should be understood as community documentation rather than an official Mojang registry.

KurtJMac reached the Far Lands on October 4, 2025, after beginning his journey in 2011. PC Gamer reported the arrival the following day. The report quotes his reaction when he saw his character model in third-person view: “Aah! I don’t exist!” Afterward, he said, “Now we’ve gotta play Minecraft.”
Why do the Far Lands depend on the Minecraft version?
The classic Java Edition Far Lands were an unintended result of a terrain-generation bug, not a destination designed as part of ordinary exploration. The community timeline says the bug was fixed in the Adventure Update, dated September 14, 2011, after which the classic Far Lands no longer generated naturally in Java Edition. The timeline’s version history describes that change.

There is a newer, version-specific wrinkle. The same timeline records an ENABLE_FARLANDS property in Java Edition 26.3 Pre-Release 1, dated September 1, 2026, which it says disables the traditional Far Lands fix and adds other distance-related effects. That is a community archive’s account of a pre-release; it does not establish what every current release or platform includes. Check the release channel and version rather than assuming the classic Far Lands naturally generate in all editions.
Does the timeline give an official count of visitors?
No definitive official Mojang count is established by the cited records. The community archive documents named journeys and dates, while PC Gamer independently reports KurtJMac’s arrival. Those sources support saying that multiple players have reached the Far Lands, but not claiming a complete count or treating the archive’s ranking as an official Mojang record. Routes and claims can also refer to different editions or dimensions, or to classic terrain reached by travel versus a modded or toggled implementation; the available accounts do not provide an exhaustive set of rules for comparing every such case.
