Why do the Far Lands depend on the Minecraft version?
The classic Java Edition Far Lands were an unintended result of a terrain-generation bug, not a destination designed as part of ordinary exploration. The community timeline says the bug was fixed in the Adventure Update, dated September 14, 2011, after which the classic Far Lands no longer generated naturally in Java Edition.
