Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched worldwide on November 14, 2025, so this is no longer just a first look at the reveal. The game brings a solo-or-co-op campaign, the campaign-linked Endgame mode, multiplayer with small- and large-team maps, and round-based Zombies. Here’s what the official announcements say about the story, ways to play and platforms.
What is Black Ops 7 about?
Set in 2035, more than 40 years after Black Ops 6, the story follows David Mason and an elite JSOC team to Avalon. They investigate a threat involving Raul Menendez and the Guild, centered on a weapon designed to turn fear into a weapon of war. Activision described the game as the first consecutive release within the Black Ops series. Call of Duty’s August 19, 2025 reveal and its June 8, 2025 confirmation provide the story and series context.
Can you play the campaign solo or in co-op?
Yes. The campaign supports solo play or co-op for up to four players total, so you can play alone or team up with as many as three others. Activision’s reveal describes it as playable “solo or with up to four players”; that is the publisher’s wording for the campaign’s player count. The reveal also introduces Endgame as the campaign’s culmination: Avalon opens into a broader area where players can use personalized abilities and take on further challenges.
What’s included in multiplayer?
Activision’s product page lists 16 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps at launch. A separate official launch announcement describes 18 multiplayer maps and names Overclock, Overload and Skirmish. Those are two descriptions from different official materials; the launch announcement’s total should not be substituted for the product page’s breakdown of team sizes.

Does Black Ops 7 have Zombies?
Yes. Round-based Zombies returns in the Dark Aether. Activision calls its map the biggest round-based Zombies map in Black Ops history; that is the publisher’s own comparison, not an independent measurement. Details appear in the launch announcement.
Which platforms can you play it on?
Activision lists Black Ops 7 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Battle.net and Steam, as well as Game Pass. Check the specific platform store and access route before buying or installing: platform compatibility and subscription eligibility are separate considerations. Can you play Black Ops 7 with Game Pass?
Yes, through eligible subscriptions. Xbox Wire said the game was available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and Activision’s listing notes that an active eligible subscription is required.
