Here’s the Switch 2’s homescreen—Nintendo calls it the HOME Menu. It is where you launch software and reach system settings, social features, captures, and other system tools. Press the HOME Button on a connected controller to open it, according to Nintendo Support.

What the HOME Menu is for

Nintendo describes the HOME Menu as the place to launch software and configure system settings. The company’s overview says: “The HOME Menu allows you to launch software and configure system settings. It can be opened at any time by pressing the HOME Button on a connected controller.”

The upper-left My Page area provides access to user information and friend-list management. Nintendo also lists shortcuts along the bottom of the menu for services and system features. Its support overview confirms what those destinations do, but does not establish exact icon positions, colors, or other pixel-level details.

What you can open from the menu

Nintendo lists these service and system destinations in its Switch 2 HOME Menu overview:

HOME Menu versus other system menus

The HOME Menu is not the name for every interface that can appear over a game. Nintendo groups the HOME, POWER, and C Button interfaces under the broader label “system menus”; its overview also identifies an Entrance Menu and Quick Settings. Nintendo says these menus can be accessed while playing software, after which you can return to the application. See Nintendo of America Support’s System Menu Overview.
