A short trailer released after a countdown revealed the Cyborg Legion’s return to the Helldivers 2 story. Reports published February 9, 2026, said the faction would return on February 10, with Cyberstan back in focus. The trailer reopens the question of what comes next; it does not answer it.
What the trailer revealed
As reported by Insider Gaming on February 9, 2026, a countdown ended with a very short trailer announcing that the Cyborg Legion was back in Helldivers 2’s story. The report says the trailer description contained a binary message that translated from Swedish as “THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. RETURN IMMEDIATELY.” The original text was “DET HÄR ÄR ER SISTA CHANS. ÅTERGÅ GENAST.” This is translated trailer-description text, not a quote attributed to a named speaker.
When the Cyborgs were set to return
Gamesplanet reported on February 9, 2026 that Arrowhead had confirmed the Cyborgs would return on February 10, 2026. That date is the announcement reported at the time; these reports do not establish what happened in the game afterward.
Why Cyberstan matters to the reveal
The return ties the story to the original Helldivers faction and puts Cyberstan back in the conversation. Insider Gaming describes Cyberstan as the Cyborgs’ homeworld, populated by former humans augmented with cybernetic abilities. Gamesplanet frames the faction as connected to the Automaton fleet and says Cyberstan is again in focus. Those are the outlets’ lore summaries and framing, rather than details newly explained by the trailer.

What happens next remains open
The trailer establishes the Cyborgs’ return and delivers an urgent warning, but it does not reveal the Legion’s next move or settle how the conflict will develop. Insider Gaming posed that future course as an open question: what will happen with the Cyborg Legion in Helldivers 2? The reveal points players toward Cyberstan, while leaving the answer to the game’s unfolding story.
