Battlefield 6 Open Beta Week 2 began August 14, 2025, at 08:00 UTC and ended August 18 at 08:00 UTC. EA’s guide listed the event dates as August 14–17, but the precise UTC end time fell on Monday, August 18. The beta is over; this is a look back at its schedule and additions.
When did Battlefield 6 Open Beta Week 2 start and end?
EA scheduled Weekend 2 to open Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 08:00 UTC and close Monday, August 18, at 08:00 UTC. Its official guide used the August 14–17 date range, while EA’s schedule announcement supplied the exact UTC window. EA’s schedule announcement and beta guide are the official references.
Preloading had begun earlier, on August 4, 2025, at 15:00 UTC. That was a past preload date, not a current way to access the beta.
Did Weekend 2 require a code, and which platforms could play?
No. EA described Weekend 2 as “No code needed, available to anyone.” It was available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. Players were instructed to link their EA Account with their platform account; PC players also needed Secure Boot enabled to play the beta. These were the beta’s stated access requirements, not a description of current access to Battlefield 6.

What was new in Week 2?
Empire State: an infantry-only Brooklyn map
Empire State placed combat in Brooklyn, across alleys, rooftops, and city streets. Unlike maps built around vehicle-supported fighting, EA described it as infantry-only.
Rush: attack or defend M-COMs
In Rush, attackers tried to plant explosives at military communication systems, or M-COMs, while defenders tried to defuse them. Its sequential attack-and-defense objective made it a different proposition from capturing points across a map.
Squad Deathmatch: four squads, one kill target
Squad Deathmatch put four squads into a close-quarters contest. The first squad to reach the kill target won, making coordinated eliminations the central objective rather than holding territory.

Three additional challenges and rewards
EA added three challenges for Weekend 2. Each had a specific objective and reward:
Recommended Free Tools
| Challenge objective | Reward |
|---|---|
| Capture 42 flags in Conquest, Domination, or King of the Hill | War Machine Vehicle Skin |
| Score 200 kills or assists | Bat Company Dog Tag |
| Capture 10 sectors in Breakthrough or Rush | Dominion Weapon Package |
What carried over from Weekend 1?
Week 2 retained the earlier beta’s maps and modes, so the new content supplemented rather than replaced the first weekend’s lineup.
Returning maps
- Siege of Cairo
- Liberation Peak
- Iberian Offensive
Returning modes
- Conquest: fight to control objectives across the map.
- Breakthrough: attackers push through sectors in sequence while defenders hold them; the Week 1 lineup also included Closed Weapons Breakthrough.
- Domination: fast-paced fights over capture points.
- King of the Hill: teams battle over a single capture point.
That mix gave players a choice between broad objective control, sector-based attack and defense, and tighter capture-point fights. Empire State and the two new modes added more infantry-focused and close-quarters options.

What did EA say after the beta?
In its August 21, 2025 post-beta debrief, Electronic Arts reported 420 million matches, 92 million hours played, 4.9 billion enemies killed, and 30.9 million revives. These are EA-published totals, not independently verified measurements. EA’s Open Beta Debrief also outlined planned adjustments: changes to weapon recoil and tap-fire, less momentum from slide-to-jump movement and less height from repeated jumps, greater inaccuracy while firing during jumps or slides, and retuned parachute physics. EA also said it was addressing unintended access to rooftops and out-of-bounds areas. Those were plans described in August 2025, not guarantees about the game’s current state.
What can players do now?
The Open Beta was a limited-time August 2025 event, so there is no Week 2 access window or beta code to claim now. The relevant continuation is the full Battlefield 6 game. EA’s announcement links to platform destinations, but current availability and editions depend on the platform and its listing.
