S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl launched on November 20, 2024 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It is already out; Xbox also announced access through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on launch day.
Release date and platforms
Microsoft listed the game for PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 20, 2024. Xbox’s November 19, 2024 announcement also included Cloud, while Microsoft’s launch-day coverage said it launched that day on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The cited platform listings do not include Xbox One.

What the November 21 date means
Some players may see a different date on SEGA’s Japan-market product page, which lists November 21, 2024 for the PC and Xbox Series X|S editions. That is the date shown on that regional listing; Xbox’s contemporaneous announcement and Microsoft’s launch-day coverage give November 20. SEGA lists the PC and Xbox editions in that market as digital only. Its note about a packaged edition applies to the PS5 Standard Edition, not Xbox or PC.
Game Pass access at launch
Xbox said the game would be available on day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass in November 2024. That confirms launch-period access, not whether the game is included in either subscription now; check the current Game Pass catalog for present availability.

Later Xbox feature
In a March 26, 2026 Xbox Wire article, GSC Game World brand manager Mykyta Horodyvskyi said the base game and its first major expansion, Cost of Hope, support Xbox Play Anywhere. The article described the expansion as planned for Summer 2026; that statement does not establish whether it released within that window.
