Resident Evil Requiem release date and platforms
Capcom announced February 27, 2026 as the release date for Resident Evil Requiem. Its September 16, 2025 announcement named PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 at launch. That date has passed: as of October 8, 2026, the game is already released. The date is the broad launch date Capcom announced, not a guaranteed local unlock hour for every platform and time zone.
Why do some store pages show February 26?
Storefronts can display a different local calendar date from Capcom’s announced date. The official US PlayStation listing shows February 27, 2026, while Steam’s live listing displays February 26, 2026. How to check the release time for your region
Capcom’s February 24 Steam announcement directs players to a time-zone map to check when the game releases in their region. The announcement also says that pre-orders can preload the game and that additional update data may be required after launch. Capcom’s Steam announcement
- Identify the platform and store where you play: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC/Steam, or Nintendo Switch 2.
- Check the game’s listing in that store for your region. For the regional time, consult Capcom’s time-zone map linked in its announcement.
- If the store shows a calendar date but no unlock hour, treat the date as the storefront’s local display—not proof of an exact release time.
Capcom’s announcement confirms that a regional map exists, but its individual time entries are not available in the announcement text linked above. No reliable country-by-country unlock schedule can be given here; the exact hour needs to be checked against the relevant platform and region.

What to know if you preloaded the game
Capcom said players who pre-ordered could preload the game. It also cautioned that additional update data might be required after launch, so a preload does not necessarily mean there will be no further download before playing. Capcom’s Steam announcement
